Hey guys, Jana here, Artsploitation Films sets the Dee Wallace-starring ‘Red Christmas‘ under the tree October 17th. That’s their line, my thing is this movie is perfect for Halloween AND Christmas. I say treat it like ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas‘ and watch it both holidays, and any other time you damn well feel like it. The film will be available nationwide on Blu-ray, DVD and VOD.

In 2015 we all demanded ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ at the big screen for Christmas, this year, we can demand ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ in all of it’s high-quality 3D glory. Lucasfilm is releasing an exclusive four-disc 3D Collector’s Edition. With this edition we get the original theatrical release on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, Digital HD and DVD. As if that wasn’t enough, we also get bonus features all new bonus material, including deleted scenes, behind the scenes peeks and a brand new audio commentary from director J.J. Abrams. The whole thing comes to the states on November 15.

Two great family film companies, Walden Media and Jim Henson Productions, are joining forces to produce, and develop an original story about a rather nasty subject, a pagan demon who punishes wicked children at Christmas. Did I mention he has horns and looks fifty shades of creepy? They’ve gone with the title ‘Happy Krampus!‘ so they’re going to make it a family-friendly project with a live-action production.

It’s that time of year again. When we all gather round with those we care about and watch the special Christmas edition of WWE’s RAW from Minneapolis, Minnesota! Trees, lights and cheer paired with mayhem, chaos and insanity were the order of the evening. Like so many presents we have received in our life time, we saw things that made us go this is awesome, and others that made us go what the hell did I just witness? Either way, we were just grateful to spend the time with the superstars we loved and the ones we wished we really could not see. What fun was to be had and what was bad? One of the hottest films of the summer is sure to be one of the most asked for Blu-ray’s this Christmas! ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘  takes us into new corners of the Marvel Universe with bold space adventurer Peter Quill steals an extremely rare and valuable orb that becomes the focus of a dogged bounty hunt.  In order to run from his enemies, Quill forges an unlikely and uneasy truce with Rocket, a gun-crazy raccoon; Groot, a tree-like strongman with low verbal skills, a deadly assassin named Gamora and Drax who is focused mainly on revenge.  Once the true power of the orb is discovered, the unlikely band of heroes comes together in a final battle that will decide the fate of the whole galaxy.

Ever since Rowling’s ‘Harry Potter‘ series got kids reading on a global scale, the YA market has become a hotbed of hopeful movie plot lines, characters, and vampires…lots of vampires.

Anthony Mackie who was last seen as Falcon in ‘Captain America: Winter’s Soldier‘ will be joining a Christmas Comedy project starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt for Sony. The project currently does not have a title and Jonathan Levine will be directing the film from a screenplay he wrote a while ago.

The Polyphonic Spree Does Christmas

It might not yet be Halloween, and there are still a few days left to carve up that jack-o-lantern for the front porch, but The Polyphonic Spree is ready to ring in the Christmas spirit with or without you, with their first full length holiday album, “Holidaydream: Songs of the Holidays, Vol. 1”.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I have to say this preceding review may be partially biased, as I spent a good many months leading up to the album’s release, working on the album art, layout, pressing of vinyl, etc., so needless to say, I’m quite thrilled to see (and hear) the album’s existence.
