4K UHD Review: ‘Ready Player One’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 18th, 2018

THE FILM

One of the most anticipated movies of the year is finally upon us with Steven Spielberg’s return to the fantasy/sci-fi realm in ‘Ready Player One‘, which is based on the pop-culture fandom novel from 2011 of the same name by author Ernest Cline. The novel was a best-seller and was chock-full of the 1980s and 1990s references in the form of video games, movies, TV shows, and more. in fact, every page of the book was like reading a nostalgic diary of your past childhood favorite things. ‘Ready Player One‘ takes places a few decades into the future where a simulated and very realistic virtual reality game is the main form of entertainment where people put on goggles and can be anyone or anything they want.

Dan Moran’s ‘Ready Player One’ Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 29th, 2018

Ready Player One” or “I, Spy: The Movie” is a delivery vehicle for people who need validation through nostalgia. The problem is that despite how hard it tries to milk enjoyment out of its constant nods to pop culture, it fails to say anything that’s worth remembering.

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

The Ready Player One trailer is here, which is based off of Ernest Cline’s hit pop-culture sci-fi novel and is directed by Steven Spielberg. This book is filled with movie and 1980’s reference, so it’s perfect that Spielberg chose to take this on.

Ernest Cline’s book ‘Ready Player One‘ is one of the hottest projects in Hollywood right now. It promises to be one of the best Sci-fi films in a long time. It might be because that Steven Spielberg is directing it or it might be that Ben Mendelsohn and Olivia Cooke have signed on to star in the film too.

Hey guys, Jana here,

US-OSCARS-ARRIVALS

Steven Spielberg is ready to return to Warner Bros. and he’s coming back in a big way! While the director teamed with the production company, we were the beneficiaries of the fruits of that relationship with excellent films from the 1980’s including ‘The Goonies‘, ‘Gremlins‘, ‘The Color Purple‘ and the final pic the partnership produced ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence‘ in 2001.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Netflix’sBlack Mirror‘ debuted way back in 2011. A more innocent time because we didn’t have deep, lurking fears about technology and how it could do anything but improve our daily life. Then came Charlie Brooker and the anthology series that has forced me, at least, to cover all the cameras on my devices with tape or sticky tack. Coming back for it’s fourth season, we’ve got a little, and I do mean little, information on the next six episodes.

Hey guys, Jana here,

batman-vs-superman-batfleck-pic

Looks like Batfleck was such a success in Warner Bros. eyes that a standalone project is officially in the works. Ben Affleck isn’t just reprising his role as the caped crusader, he’s a renaissance bat-man (See what I did there?). He will star, obvs, but he will also direct, write and produce.

MTV Gathering Major Players For ‘Scream’ Series!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 6th, 2014

Hey everyone, Jana here,

lvHkv0r

When MTV announces a new TV series, I’ve learned over the years to let it fall on deaf ears. I’ve never forgiven them for what they did to ‘Teen Wolf‘. The former music-based station really needs to change it’s name to We-Used-To-Love-Music-But-Morons-Make-Us-Better-Money-So-Enjoy-This-Attempt-At-Entertainment. OK, so maybe not exactly that, but something close. SUX TV?

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 6th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

ff2014-poster-web-geof-darrow__full

Fantastic Fest is one of the best film festivals in the U.S. not to mention the biggest. Everything there is awesome and amazing. Definitely the place to go if you love genre films as they feature the newest films from all categories featuring in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action  from all over. Some of the best and most loved films have had their world premieres at the festival. Hoping to take its place next to huge hits like ‘There Will Be Blood‘, ‘Zombieland‘ and ‘Apocalypto‘ is ‘Tusk‘. The oddly named flick comes from the brilliant and irreverent mind of Kevin Smith.

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 12th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here…

Starting at 12:00:00 GMT-0500 (CDT), basically two hours, Apple will hold it’s conference and unveil the new iPhone 5 (or whatever they will call it), plus some other products.  We will be live blogging the event.  So keep it here for all the latest updates.  As far as we know right now, we can expect new iPhones.  And there is a possibility of new iPod touches, iPod nanos, and maybe a glimpse at the iPad mini.  We will just have to wait and see.  I know Apple is working on new iMacs, but I would imagine that would be at a later date.  So, keep it tuned here for up-to-date news and images from the Apple event.

BRIDGE – Chapter One

by Justin Cline on Oct 31st, 2011

CHAPTER ONE

There are pockets within the city where even the hacks don’t travel.  Requests for passage to such places are sometimes met with laughter, oftentimes with the threat of violence, but always—always—refusal of fare.  It would seem that even madmen have moments of clarity, wherein common sense cannot be denied.  If only the same were true of the driver who delivered the blonde to The Bethany Hotel. FedMex Here….

Gooooood morning sports fans.  Also, goooooood morning statisticians!  Let’s all get ready to hit the field, glove in one hand, TI-86 in the other.  Moneyball seems to be the next installment of Aaron Sorkin’s “technology screenplays.”  Yes, I’m coining that phrase myself, and will demand payment from Mr. Sorkin.
