Hey guys, Jana here,

spider-man

After much speculation and a worldwide casting search, Marvel and Sony Pictures can announce they have finally found not only their director, but their Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the upcoming Spider-Man film set to release on July 28, 2017.

Hi Bryan Here…

Now I am very much on the fence about this reboot of Spider-Man.  One reason, is that the first two Spider-Man films were made not that long ago, and another reason, is that they were very very good.  Amazing even.  Now Raimi and the powers that be, definitely dropped the ball into a vat of shit.  It was awful.  But no reason to reboot the franchise with an all-new cast and crew right?  Right?

Hi Bryan Here….

The Tony awards was a blast.  Very entertaining.  And it looks like the creators of ‘South Park’ Matt Stone and Trey Parker took home quite a few awards for their hit musical ‘Book of Mormon’.  Their musical won nine awards including best musical.  Congratulations to everyone involved in the  ‘Book of Mormon’.  Now it jest needs to tour around the country.  Take a look at the complete list of winners from the awards show.

Avengers: Endgame Predictions!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 17th, 2019

We are one week away from the big L.A. premiere of Avengers: Endgame. The embargo on critics reviews will lift shortly after that and the internet will be the wild west of spoilers for two days until the movie is released. I have succesfully avoided spoilers like the plague for Avengers: Endgame. I got off of Twitter last year and deleted Facebook in January (not because of Endgame), so it is very easy to avoid spoilers. I dabble in Reddit for news sometimes but don’t subscribe to any “spoiler” groups, and I still plan to stay offline starting that day in case anything makes the home page. Now even though I am leak and spoiler adverse, I have watched every single trailer and TV spot and spend way too much of my adult time speculating what will happen. I was also in the Wal-Mart toy aisle yesterday and saw the Avengers: Endgame figures so that tipped me off too. So here is what I think will happen based on that…

‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ – 4K UHD Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 20th, 2019

THE FILM

(Film Review Portion Written By Audrey Evans)

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is back, but this time he has a fellowship of web-warriors from other dimensions to save the day. In a market currently flooded with Marvel, one might scoff at the idea that ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘ has anything new to offer, but prepare for a fresh spin on this radioactive world. This ‘Spider-Man‘ is hilarious, bold and inclusive. It not only reflects diversity in its artistic approach, but also in its cast of characters – and above anything else, the animation is absolutely unparalleled!

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the best animated movie of 2018. It is funny, charming, exciting, and carries an emotional weight I didn’t expect. Even in a year with Incredibles 2Spider-Verse manages to reach higher highs in action and storytelling.

Hey guys, Jana here,

The Avengers are back and they’ve brought a few friends. The next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe  packs the star-power in like gunpowder to a bomb making it ready to ignite a powder keg of awesome to kick off the summer. The usual suspects have all returned, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey, Jr., and Jeremy Renner. But there is room for more awesome, and we get it with the addition of Karen Gillan, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, and Zoe Saldana from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and far too many to mention to round out one kick-ass movie, or at least that’s what the trailer leads us to expect. We can’t forget to mention that Josh Brolin’s Thanos is back and will stop at nothing to get what he wants, the Infinity Stones.

Film Review #2: Spider-Man: Homecoming!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 7th, 2017

Dan M., here….

Spider-Man: Homecoming is a really good “Marvel” (too lazy to explain all the Sony stuff) movie that is hopefully the breath of fresh air the MCU needs. It had much smaller stakes, much more realized supporting cast and World that they operated in, a good villain that made sense, and a finale that didn’t turn into a $45million CGI punching. If the future of the solo Marvel films is going to be smaller universe conflicts that are more narrowly focused like this and Ant-Man? I am here for it. Leave space to Guardians & Thor, the end of the World to the Avengers, and weird dimensions to Doctor Strange. Give me low level criminals that Spider-Man has to fight before a math test to break those huge films up any day of the week.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Has a Trailer!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 28th, 2017

HI everyone, Bryan here…

Screen Shot 2017-03-28 at 11.48.23 AM

All the cookies should be given to Sony, because they have finally learned to share ‘Spider-Man‘ with Marvel Studios. We saw the actor Tom Holland in the Spidey-suit in ‘Captain America: Civil War‘, and was probably the best Spider-Man we’ve seen thus far, but I imagine we will see about 1245 more versions of this character over the next couple of years. Hell, we still need Spider-Man to go into Darkness or something like that.

Hey guys, Jana here,

image-credit-marvel

Is there anything Michael Keaton can’t do?! The answer to that question is “No”. Ok, he couldn’t exactly carry and birth a pack of puppies (without surgical help), but I’d like to think even Keaton could overcome that one if he wanted it bad enough. One thing he’s not done with is being super. As the first Batman I fell in love with he’ll always be the bat to me, but it looks like he’s ready to move to the villainous side of the comic book coin, he’s signed on to appear as Vulture in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming‘.

Short Film Review: ‘Iron Spyder’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 11th, 2016

Justin Cline, here…

1-logline

With a running time of less than twelve minutes, Iron Spyder allows us all-too-brief entry into a world many of us are unlikely to visit in our lifetimes. Fight Club may have started the conversation about underground fisticuffs (though you were clearly told to keep it to yourself—twice), but Spyder explores where the idea has gone, incorporating sex, drugs, and money. Lots of money.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Captain America: Civil War’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 6th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

61GKKp2eMaL

THE FILM

The ‘Civil War‘ story line in the Marvel Universe is one of the better story lines in recent memory in all of Marvel. It pitted your favorite superheroes against each other and caused some real havoc, before taking on a much bigger enemy. The day has finally come when that comic book miniseries is put up on the big screen in a very large way with ‘Captain America: Civil War‘. This is the third ‘Captain America‘ movie, and a lot of you will wonder why this isn’t just an ‘Avengers 3’ film since most of the ‘Avengers’ show up here throughout the movie. You might be right, but in a big way, this is really Captain America’s movie that shows us just how Steve Rogers ticks.

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

CA-Superset copy

Captain America: Civil War‘ is quickly coming to Blu-ray, DVD, and 3D Blu-ray very soon. In fact, it will release on September 13th with the Digital HD version being available to stream and download on September 2nd. There will be an DTS-HD 7.1 audio option and a ton of cool bonus features. I’m super psyched about this. All of the details about the release are below, and don’t forget to pre-order to get the best price.
