Lionsgate releases fan favorite, ‘Dredd‘ on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack June 6. The film stars Karl Urban (‘Star Trek Beyond‘), Olivia Thirlby (‘Juno‘), and Lena Headey (‘Game of Thrones‘). Director Pete Travis (‘Vantage Point‘) took a script from Alex Garland (‘Ex Machina‘) and rebooted the story which began as a classic comic book series in 1977. Sylvester Stallone had a run at playing the title role in 1995 and Urban has given us his own rendition of the character in this film.

So I guess because ‘The Expendables’ has done so well, it was only a matter of time before someone thought to make the same film, but with an all female cast.  This leads to the question, who will be in the film?  Who will lead a cast of female badasses?  Well, it looks like we have our first cast member.  Gina Carano, star of ‘Haywire’ will star in this action film according to Variety.

It’s not everyday you get to sit in a room with as much talent as I did today! While in attendance at this years Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX I discovered that they have a lesser known track aptly titled Fantastic Market. Fantastic Market host pitches from filmmaker literally around the world. On top of the pitches they have provided work-in-progress screenings, panels from industry greats such as Travis Stevens (Snowfort Pictures) and Ryan Turek (BLUMHOUSE) mixers and a ton of other events.  Read the rest of this entry »

The 9th annual Dallas International Film Festival is almost here, folks, and we have just received the entire list of all the films that will be playing at the festival. The fest will take place April 9-19, and you can start purchasing passes now with the links provided below. It looks like there will be some excellent filmmakers and actors in town for the festival as well as a treasure trove of awesome movies, which you can see listed out below with a little bit of information on each film. As usual, we will be at the festival, telling you about all the cool movies we’re seeing and posting some interviews with the talent. Stay tuned as  I’m sure more announcements will be made.

The Multi-Media Men are back with the 36th episode that covers all things in the entertainment industry. We had a full house again with myself Bryan KlugerAdam Conway from the Angelika Film Center, Gadi Elkon from Selig Film NewsAndrew ConwayGwen Reyes from Fresh Fiction, and Susan Kamyab from This Chix Flix. It was a lot of fun to say the least.  Here is one of our infamous ReCast segments. We went ahead  and recast the iconic film ‘Taxi Driver‘, which is one of the best films of all time that starred Robert De Niro and Jodi Foster, and was directed by Martin Scorsese. There is no way we can replace any of the amazing actors aboard here, but in this day and age, it is more likely to happen than not. So here are some of our suggestions on who should play which role?
