Hey guys, Jana here,

ghost-in-the-shell-211010

We’ve got your first peek at the first trailer for ‘Ghost In The Shell‘, Paramount’s take on the crazy popular Japanese Manga title. They’ve cast Scarlett Johansson in the lead as the Major, a special ops, unique human-cyborg hybrid, who heads up the task force titled Section 9. Their goal is to stop and eradicate the most dangerous criminals and extremists. Now the team must confront an enemy who’s primary goal appears to be wiping out Hanka Robotics’ advancements in cyber technology.

Hey guys, Jana here,

LHMainTitle

My childhood was pretty average. I was in pep club, was going to marry Tom Cruise, practiced the piano for hours and stayed home from school as often as I could. On those days away from school, I camped out on the couch and watched TV. I played guess which model has seen Bob Barker’s wammer on ‘The Price Is Right‘, listened to whatever trash Ricki Lake was tackling and I watched Melissa Gilbert run down that stupid hill in the intro to ‘Little House on the Prairie‘.

Hey guys, Jana here,

In the crush of Young Adult novels being made into movies, Paramount has picked up their next title that will hopefully become a next ‘The Fault In Our Stars‘ type of success in ‘My Heart And Other Black Holes‘ by first time author Jasmine Warga.

Paramount is Remaking ‘Explorers’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 12th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here…

explorers-kids

Yes, Paramount is remaking one of my favorite 80’s film, ‘Explorers‘. You know the one where a young Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix, and Jason Presson built a spaceship out of an old tilt-a-whirl carnival ride? Yes that one. It is still one of my favorite movies and is one of the big reasons I got into science, space and film. Everything about the movie spoke to me as a kid, and I wanted so desperately to build a spaceship after watching that film.

Jana B. here,

Image: A protester reacts as the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi burns

How do we know what took place when we were not there to witness an event? We wait for the movie to come out. The more common way is we wait for the book to come out, then someone writes a movie based off the actual events. Historical movies make big money so it’s not surprising that a book describing the first hand account of the Benghazi attack is in the works. It’s also not surprising that Paramount is already negotiating to purchase film rights to the book that hasn’t even been released, yet.

Hey all, Kimbrell here from Classic Waxxx, back from the dead…

Paramountwideshotfull

In late September, Third Man Records announced a sweet, hugely ambition project, ‘The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records: 1917-1937’,  chronicling a Wisconsin-based furniture company that produced some of the world’s most important records in the history of music. Third Man’s website titillated fans with a handful of awesome production photos of the set, but neglected to mention a price tag. That is, until now.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Paramount is returning to television production and will be co-producing the new CBS series ‘Beverly Hills Cop‘, which will mark the return of Eddie Murphy to the small screen.  This is big news as Paramount might be a heavy hitter in the television game once again. CEO Brad Grey sent out this memo to his employees:

Hi, Bryan Here….

Paramount Pictures has decided to indefintely shut down the planned reboot of that Ninja Turtles film we reported about a few months ago.  The film was supposed to be released around Christmas in 2013.  Looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon.  This is the film that Michael Bay was producing and that he wanted to make the Turtles from outer-space.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Director, Joe Cornish has signed on to direct ‘Snow Crash’ for Paramount.  ‘Snow Crash’ is based on the Neal Stephenson novel of the same name with Kathleen Kennedy and Garry Marshall producing.  Now, all they need is Speilberg to produce and it will be like a film from the 80’s.  This is not the first time this ‘Snow Crash’ project has tried to get off the ground.

Hi, Bryan Here….

They’re making us an offer we can’t refuse.  It’s not personal, it’s business as you systematically eliminate your opponents to reign supreme in this classic MONOPOLY game with a Godfather twist. Produced by USAOPOLY, under license from Hasbro and Paramount Licensing, this collector’s game celebrates the 40th anniversary of the release of one of the most seminal films of our time.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Paramount has purchased the project ‘Huck’ written by Andy Burg.  Everybody is being quiet aboutt he project, but this is supposed to be a re-imaging of sorts of the Mark Twain 1876 novel.  Think along the lines of these upcoming Snow White films and how they are being retold.  Expect that kind of re-imagining with ‘Huck’.  We’ve heard that Finn and Sawyer will be adults in the film and there will be some sort of paranormal element to the film, according to HWR.

Hi, Bryan Here…

So in an effort to ramp up their animation devision, Paramount will be releasing a ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ film at the end of 2014.  Maybe the Mayans will be right and we won’t make it to 2014.  And who knows, maybe David Hasselhoff  won’t either.  Viacom president and CEO Philippe Dauman said “We will be releasing a SpongeBob movie at the end of 2014, which will serve to start off or be one of our films that starts off our new animation effort.”

Film Review: ‘Book Club’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 17th, 2018

Nothing says ‘Ladies’ Night’ quite like clinking glasses and a crisp bottle of Pinot Grigio. As four lifelong friends continue their tradition of gathering to gossip and discuss the latest read, one attempts to spice up their collectively drab lives by introducing a saucy trilogy to the table. ‘Book Club‘ is a playful commentary on having fun no matter your age or stage in life, and although this comedy is predictable and oozing with cheesy brie, it counteracts with uproariously endless humor from a top-notch cast.
