Hi, Bryan Here….

CBS has given the “go ahead” on a new pilot called ‘Ralph Lamb’.  ‘Ralph Lamb is written by Nicholas Pileggi who famously wrote ‘Goodfellas’ and ‘Casino’.  Dennis Quaid is currently almost done negotiating to star in the series opposite Michael Chiklis (The Shield).  ‘Ralph Lamb’ will take place in the 60’s Las Vegas and be from the eyes of a sheriff (possibly Quaid).    That sheriff is Lamb
and was a former rodeo cowbow and became the sheriff for most of the 60’s and 70’s.  Chiklis will play the arch enemy gangster according to Vulture.

Blu-ray Review: The Incident!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 5th, 2018

THE FILM

I’m sure most of you haven’t heard of a little film called ‘The Incident‘, which isn’t exactly a great title, but is one hell of a ride from start to finish. Released back in 1967, I’m sure this film did to subway passengers as ‘JAWS‘ did to swimmers in any body of water, which was scare the hell out of them. ‘The Incident‘ follows a group of strangers on a late night subway car, who are all headed to their destinations, but are all terrorized by a couple of criminals over the course of the film.

Hey guys, Jana here,

evan-peters

American Horror Story: Hotel‘ has already seen much of their revolving door of actors sign on for the new anthology series and as of now, Evan Peters has agreed as well. This marks Peters’ fifth season run with the Ryan Murphy horror series. The only other actor, besides Peters, to have appeared in each re-imagining is Sarah Paulson.

Film Review: ‘When The Game Stands Tall’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 21st, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Jim Caviezel;Michael Chiklis;Matthew Daddario

The inspirational sports movie genre always musters up a successful box office receipt and draws large crowds to the theater over the weekend. From films like ‘Remember the Titans‘ to ‘Glory Road‘ to even ‘Miracle‘, these movies had great performances, cohesive story telling, excellent action scenes, and a powerful message that was executed very well to pull our heart strings and entertain us in the span of two hours. I really wish that I could say the same for Thomas Carter’s adaptation of the real life story of the De La Salle Spartan football team in his film ‘When The Game Stands Tall‘.

Hello, Jana here,

Fantastic-Four-reboot

By now, everyone has learned that Fox is doing a reboot of ‘Fantastic Four‘. I will never, ever understand the studio decision to re-make a movie that is not very old. ‘Fantastic Four‘ came out in 2005 so it’s not even 10 years old, yet. Stars from the film and the director are still very relevant to what is current. They’re all still working in big budget situations and are drawing crowds.

And The New ‘Fantastic Four’ Are….

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 20th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here….

fantastic-four1

Fox is rebooting it’s superhero franchise, ‘Fantastic Four‘ with Josh Trank (Chronicle) directing. It seems now that Trank and Fox has found its leading heroes. Miles Teller, Kata Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell are set to star in the Marvel Comic adaptation. This is great news and one hell of a cast.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Pawn’

by Gumbercules9000 on May 6th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

514a6YGGy1P

I had a lot of fun with ‘Pawn’. This is one of those instances where you are perusing movies online or at your local video rental place where you come across a film you’ve never heard of, but see tons of A-list actors on the front cover. And when we decide to purchase or rent based only on the cover, we usually have a 50/50 shot of really enjoying the flick. Most of the time, these particular films have a low budget and suffer from a wide range of problems. Sometimes the budget is too small to create a decent story and locations, and other times it’s bad filming. With ‘Pawn’, everything tends to work here and is a fun film that deserved a bigger audience.

Hi, Bryan Here….

It seems like everything is getting rebooted or remade.  CBS is developing ‘Have Gun – Will Travel’ with David Mamet heading up the project.  Westerns are making a come-back…finally.  Maybe the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s mini series had something to do with it.  But, CBS has made a script deal to produce the project.  Now, I’m waiting for a ‘Gunsmoke’ reboot.

Hi, Bryan Here…

The day after soon-to-be valedictorian Henry Burke (Matt Bush) takes a hit of the chronic for the first time, his school principal (Michael Chiklis) institutes a zero tolerance drug policy and administers a mandatory drug test for all students. Henry has two options: fail and lose his college scholarship, or team up with his stoner friend Breaux (Sean Marquette) to beat the system. They steal a high powered ganja from law student-turned-drug-dealer Psycho Ed (Adrien Brody) and spike the school’s bake sale brownies, getting the whole school “faculty included” completely stoned out of their minds. But with the student body getting higher and higher with every brownie, and a pissed-off Psycho Ed on their tails for stealing his stash, they must find a way to keep their half-baked plan from going up in smoke.

Hi Bryan Here….

It seems like Nick Nolte is getting tons of roles these days.  Glad to see his career is picking back up again.  He is set to star in ‘Gangster Squad’ directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, 30 Minutes Or Less).  “Nolte will play Bill Parker, the new chief of police in Los Angeles, and the first in a awhile who hasn’t been corrupted by Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn). The chief, a Purple Heart recipient at Normandy, is the one who starts the Gangster Squad, a crack team designed to bring down organized crime. Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone, Mireille Enos and Anthony Mackie star.”
