Vin Diesel is Remaking Miami Vice!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 2nd, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

I guess since NBC is a fast sinking ship down into the ocean, it has to reboot its own vintage TV shows. This time, it’s with Miami Vice, which was a hit action-crime television series in the 1980s that spawned a huge fandom, music, and fashion. In 2006, director Michael Mann remade Miami Vice on the big screen with Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell. To add insult to injury, Vin Diesel and Chris Morgan are producing this reboot, both of which have been involved in all of the Fast and Furious films.

Tis the season to be thankful for many things. Family, friends, food, jobs, and Bruce Campbell. It’s Thanksgiving time and we here at Boomstick Comics just love movies. We love everything about them. Even the bad ones. While you’re eating those delicious bites of Turkey, watching ‘Charlie Brown Thanksgiving‘ or the Dallas Cowboys Game, we want to share with you some movies that we are thankful for. These movies have touched us in some way and have helped shaped our creative lives. Maybe this list will inspire you to make your own list and share it with us. The Triple Frontier is a geographical location where the Iguazu and Parana rivers converge at a border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. The location has become a popular backdrop for high-action, military fare. It was the backdrop for episodes of ‘NCIS‘, ‘The Unit‘, and 2006’s ‘Miami Vice‘. Now Paramount is making ‘Triple Frontier‘, a feature film penned by Mark Boal.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

Scream Factory is releasing ‘Manhunter‘ in Collector’s Edition form on May 24th on Blu-ray with a ton of new extras. Do you remember ‘Manhunter’ from 1986? It had a hell of a cast and featured the character Hannibal Lektor for the first time on screen. Yes, even before he rose to superstardom in ‘Silence of the Lambs‘. This film also had a killer soundtrack as well. Below is the press release and all the info you will need on the release. Can’t wait for May 24th.

Hey guys, Jana here,

“SO SAY WE ALL!” Many of us are waiting for ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ to return from its break and now there’s a new reason for the anticipation. ‘Agent Carter‘ is definitely doing its part to keep our attention diverted from the fact that we have no new SHIELD episodes coming our way until March, but after learning that Edward James Olmos will be added to the cast all I can say is that the struggle to wait patiently is proving impossible!

It’s gotta be one of the sexiest record covers in music history, especially from a red-blooded American male perspective, giving you a little bit of a visual tease of nipples and pubic area without giving away too much. You’ve seen the album countless times in magazines, on record store shelves, probably even hanging on your big brother’s wall, but have you actually heard any of the songs on Roxy Music’s “Country Life” LP? Shortly after ‘Ride Along‘ hit theaters, it was announced a sequel would follow directed, once again, by Tim Story and that Ice Cube and Kevin Hart would be back to reprise their roles, Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi came back to write the script as well. Hi, Bryan Here….

We have been hearing for a while about a new installment of ‘Child’s Play’ along with a complete reboot of the franchise.  We even wrote a little bit about this ‘Curse of Chucky’ film a few weeks ago, which you can read HERE.  It looks like it will be direct-to-dvd, which is unfortunate, but any new Chucky is good, right?  I’ve been a huge fan of the ‘Child’s Play’ series since the first one came out in the 80’s, and even though the films have gotten much sillier, I still enjoy them.  And I’m so happy that Brad Dourif is once again returning to voice the killer doll.  Press release below.
