Marvel Confirms Rumors About Third Phase of Cinematic Universe Dates!!!

Marvel made an announcement today, actually several announcements, about the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’ve all been hearing rumors about upcoming projects but nothing has been verified until today. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took the stage to lay out a timeline for their next few films.
In the category of we-all-knew-it-would-happen-eventually Marvel is paving the way for an epic battle between Captain America and Iron Man with ‘Captain America: Civil War‘. Chris Evans and Robert Downey, Jr will reprise their previous roles and Chadwick Boseman will make his first appearance as the Black Panther. Cap’s Civil War hits big screens on May 6, 2016.
Joaquin Phoenix In Talks To Be Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’!!!
Hey everyone, Jana here,
Comic-Con isn’t a place where only huge bombs of information get dropped, it’s also chock-full of fans spreading rumors like the wildfires that all too often consume the San Diego area anyway. Seems like one of the biggest rumors surrounded the potential casting for a Marvel Studios property, ‘Doctor Strange‘. Fans have been dropping names like Tom Hardy, Jared Leto and Benedict Cumberbatch in mass conversations that branched out until at least a few of the names were being taken as gospel truth. I’ve got the answer, kids, and it’s NOT Cumberbatch.

Jana B., Here…
The Superhero business is a big money maker and anything associated with Marvel Comics is getting snatched up as quickly as if Speed Demon were picking up a littered yard. The geek-friendly brand has just closed a deal with media giant, Netflix, to produce at least four 13-episode series that will lead up to a miniseries of The Defenders.
Check Which Superheroes Will Be Getting the Big Screen Treatment For Marvel!!
Hi, Bryan Here….
Marvel Studios has not let up one bit with prepping new films for more characters in their universe. We do know that we will be getting a treasure trove of new superhero films over the next few years, which will lead up to ‘The Avengers 2‘ in 2015, which Marvel is calling Phase Two. I guess Phase One started with the first ‘Iron Man‘ and ended with ‘The Avengers‘.
Comic-Con 2012!! Marvel Unveils ‘Thor’, ‘Captain America’ Sequels, Plus ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’!!!
Hi, Bryan Here….
Marvel had a busy day today at Comic-Con. Kevin Feige (President of Marvel Film Studios) confirmed today that ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ will be released August 1, 2014. Also, Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) have finished writing ‘Ant-Man’ and have filmed some test footage which they showed the crowd at Comic-Con. Needless to say the crowd went ape-shit. Wright said, Ant-Man is a tiny guy who kicks ass one inch at a time.
Blu-ray Review: Black Panther!
THE FILM
Going into the 18th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you’d hope you wouldn’t see the same thing over and over that we’ve been watching since Iron Man debuted a decade ago. As the years have passed on by, watching a Marvel movie became something tedious, even though most of the films are fun and enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong, Marvel has done a great job with each and every film they’ve put out, but moving into their 18th film, it seems like we’ve seen almost everything and every action scene is something recycled from the previous, whether it be superheroes jumping from car to car during car chases or aliens come out of the sky and destroying the planet. Luckily for all of us Marvel fans, ‘Black Panther‘ breathes new and creative life into a somewhat stale film series in the best ways possible.
4K UHD Review: ‘Thor: Ragnarok’!
THE FILM
Thor is starring in his third stand-alone film called ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ and brings a much needed change to the character in the best possibly way. Thor now has a fun personality and great comedic timing, mostly due to Chris Hemsworth amazing acting chops here. In addition to that, the film is steeped in a hypnotic, yet hyper-active color scheme that looks like Willy Wonka and Andy Warhol got together and decorated a city. In fact, Wonka’s theme ‘Pure Imagination’ is a song that plays in the film. It’s not all cold and stiff dialogue here anymore with brown or earth toned aliens and robots that Thor has to use his hammer to fight. Everyone and everything is covered in bright primary and pastel colors that creates a breath of fresh air in this stale universe. That’s all thanks to filmmaker Taika Waititi for giving his unique vision on this big budget film ($180 million). In previous Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, particularly with Thor, things have been sour and gloomy.
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ is coming to 4K UHD!
‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ is swinging to 4K UHD and Blu-ray very soon. In fact, you’ll be able to watch the movie digitally on February 20. Then on March 6th, you’ll be able to purchase the 4K UHD Disc and Blu-ray. The 4K UHD presentation will have the HDR10 capability and there will be a Dolby Atmos track included, which I bet will be demo-worthy. In addition to that, there is a treasure trove of bonus features, which are listed out below. This will be the best looking Thor film on home video thus far.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is coming to 4K UHD!
Hi everyone, Bryan here….
I can’t believe it’s finally happening. Disney is releasing their first 4K UHD release with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which couldn’t be a more perfect debut release in the new format. Disney has been holding out for a while now, while other studios have been releasing their new and vintage films in 4K. It was only a matter of time. There will be Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos included on the release as well, along with quite a few fun bonus features. You’ll be able to watch the film on digital platforms, starting August 8th, and purchase the actual 4K UHD Disc on August 22nd. So now I’m impatiently waiting for Disney to start announcing some vintage vault films and shows, re-releasing in 4K UHD. It’s only a matter of time, but expect my wallet to dwindle down with the following announcements.
