Before that he featured in ‘Friday Night Lights‘, ‘Cold Mountain‘ and my favorite Lucas Black role as Jeep Hanson in ‘Legion‘.

Film Review: ‘The Witch’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 17th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

maxresdefault

You’ll remember the name Robert Eggers from here on after. Eggers is a first time director who has been the talk of town since last year when he premiered his little horror film ‘The Witch‘ at Sundance. His Kubrickian eye and style for telling a story is as fresh and original as it is scary and authentic. ‘The Witch‘ won’t make you jump back in your seat or provide the cheap silly scares that you see in most modern day horror movies. Hell, it doesn’t even have a mild jog pacing. Instead, Eggers slowly builds the tension and suspense so much over the course of 90 minutes with horrifying images and characters, that you’ll want to cover your eyes in this story of witchcraft set in Puritan New England more than 400 years ago.

2015 Disney Film Release Dates With Trailers!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 30th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

star-wars-disney-570x307

While the world is focusing on auld lang syne and bringing 2014 to a close, Disney is pointedly looking to the future or “To infinity and beyond!” as Buzz Lightyear would say. Walt Disney Studios has given us a wide list of release dates for 2015 including the first Star Wars since the mouse has taken ownership. It’s a big lineup and will, no doubt, bring in a wega-payday for the company. In the last year, three films, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘, ‘Maleficent‘ and ‘Captain America Winter Soldier‘ brought in over $700 million world-wide on their own. It stands to reason they can expect the same from 2015. Let’s kick it off with some animation!

Film Review: ‘Before I Go To Sleep’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 31st, 2014

Janet W., Here…

IMG_0124.CR2

Before I Go to Sleep opens with an extreme close-up of Christine Lucas’ (Nicole Kidman) bright blue, bloodshot eye.  The world is an empty space to Christine.  She doesn’t know who she is nor does she know whose arm is draped over her. (If she only knew)  Every day begins this way for Christine.  The man (Colin Firth) identifies himself as her husband, Ben Lucas.  He explains her estranged friend disappearing, their son dying, etc. day after day.  Glass squares filled with reminders and likes/dislikes for Christine are on their kitchen wall.  Without fail there is one aspect of Christine’s life that must be retold, that she had an accident, which caused her condition.  The weariness shows of Ben’s face, but there’s something a little off about this situation.  Enter Dr. Nasch (Mark Strong), a psychologist who has vowed to help her recover her life.  He offers her the only means of continuity through nightly recordings on a camera.  However, she is instructed to hide the camera from Ben.  Slowly her memories unfold and the truth is revealed.
