Dec/2017

If you haven’t heard of the TV show Veronica Mars, then get off your ass.  You’re gonna want to watch this.  It was a short lived tv show with three seasons of incredible storytelling.  I have been hoping there would be a return of some sorts of this show in the form of a movie or another season or even a web series.  Well it looks like it might happen some point in our lifetime.

This is what the beautiful Kristen Bell had to say in so many words about a possible new Veronica Mars show/movie/web series.

“At this point, Warner Bros. can make it but like any studio they have research that tells them whether or not they’ll make their money back…And that’s what we’ve been told: That it’s just not there. So my duty, because I wanted this movie made from the minute our show got canceled, is to a) do it before I’m 40; and b) to prove to Warner Bros. that there is an audience. You already have 3 million who watched it every week hardcore fans that will see it — you can only build from there.”

Bell says that she and other key series participants would probably settle for a web series to revive the story, but she thinks “we all really want to push for the movie if it can happen.”

I can only say amazing things about this show.  If you have not seen it then click the link/picture below and get the 1st season from AMAZON from a great price.

I hope this happens.

What’s better than watching 1970’s TV series? Watching a movie based on the show that’s full of throwback glory written and directed by the one and only Mr. Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard. Warner Bros. debuts the trailer for ‘CHIPs‘. Shepard gets another credit for starring in this film that looks to be one of the funniest things I’ve seen. Dax stars as Jon Baker and Michael Peña co-stars as Frank ‘Ponch’ Poncherello. Lindsey Taylor, Adam Brody and Ryan Hansen co-star with an ensemble cast that is just flat-out hilarious.

A titan of industry, Michelle Darnell,  is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget. While this movie smacks of Martha Stewart, Miss Martha didn’t become a titan in the world of Girl Scouts, so there’s that.

Hey guys, Jana here,

FF_2015_POSTER

Fantastic Fest‘ has released their 2nd wave of programming with a huge roster that would work as an entire film fest on its own! Add it to the first wave programming seen here, and by Jupiter’s Cock, it’s going to be exciting!!! There will be advance screenings of ‘The Martian‘, ‘High-Rise‘, ‘Green Room‘, and ‘The Keeping Room‘.

“This is a big year for genre cinema. We’re exceptionally proud to honor incredible filmmakers and welcome back some of Fantastic Fest’s favorites,” said Tim League, Fantastic Fest and Alamo Drafthouse CEO/Founder.

Sticking true to Fantastic Fest’s penchant for chaos and explosive events, they welcome Itchy-O to Austin for the first time. A blazing, 32-member aural assault from the darkest depths of Colorado, Itchy-O is a wholly immersive, musical experience on a massive scale. Said festival director Kristen Bell, “We cannot wait for them to unleash their percussive mayhem on our audience as hysteria has a welcome home at Fantastic Fest.”

See below for the full lineup of newly announced film titles for Fantastic Fest 2015. Final wave of titles to be announced shortly.

Hey guys, Jana here,

chips02a

If the topic came up of two particular California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers, there has to be one name that comes to mind, right? ‘CHiPs‘ is indeed what we’re talking about in this article. When you look at all the sitcoms from earlier decades and the films that were made from them, cheese was the main ingredient. Be it cheddar, provolone or gouda, they were cheesy. Thankfully the filmmakers behind this remake is purposely driving the project in a very different direction.

Film Review: ‘Veronica Mars’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 13th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here…

veronica-mars-movie-logan

A long time ago, we used to be friends, but I haven’t thought of you lately at all. That is until about a year ago, ‘Veronica Mars‘ creator Rob Thomas and Veronica herself Kristen Bell took to the crowd-funder website Kickstarter and asked us fans of the amazing tv show ‘Veronica Mars‘ to fund a feature film. Warner Bros. told Bell and Thomas that if they successfully funded the $2 million dollar budget, that they would match that and distribute and market the movie.

The ‘Veronica Mars’ Sets Its Release Date!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 4th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

photo-main

Only three more months until we have our very own fan funded ‘Veronica Mars‘ movie with the entire cast coming back to reprise their roles for another adventure. Back in March of this year, ‘Veronica Mars‘ creator Rob Thomas took to the crowd funding website, Kickstarter, and asked for money from the millions of ‘Veronica Mars‘ fans. The goal was set at $2.5 million, which would only be funded if that goal was met. In less than 24 hours, that goal was met and destroyed.

Good news, everyone. ‘Veronica Mars‘ is coming back in the form of a feature film. However, it’s all up to us. I’ve been watching the series all over again recently and constantly sing “A long time ago, we used to be friends, but I haven’t thought of you lately at all”, and I can’t tell you how much I miss this amazing series.  Kristen Bell, who played Veronica Mars and show creator Rob Thomas (no, not that Rob Thomas), have constantly said they loved doing the show and would love to return to it.  Well, now it seems like they might get that chance.

Hi, Bryan Here….

I first heard about this film earlier this year when Gerard Butler told me that he was going to play a foul-mouthed leprechaun, and that one of his lines was, “I’m going to crawl up your mother’s cunt and start a fire.”  That instantly put this film at the top of my list.  This film has about a dozen writers and a dozen directors, and looks to be a sort sketch comedy film, but who knows? I can’t tell what this will be about.  But one thing is for sure, it looks fucking hilarious and has an AMAZING cast including, Sean William Scott, Halle Berry, Naomi Watts, Christopher Mintz Plasse (McLovin), Chloe Moretz, Liev Shreiber, Terrence Howard, Gerard Butler, Kate Winslet, Elizabeth Banks, Hugh Jackman, Kristen Bell, Emma Stone, Anna Faris, Richard Gere, Parick Warburton, Justin Long, Uma Thurman, Kate Bosworth, Kieran Culkin, Jack McBrayer, and much much more.

Best Movies of 2015, According To Jana

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 30th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

Another year has come and gone and brought with it about a billion movies, some were total crap and a waste of time, but others…oh they were worth every bit of time I spent. Pre-movie hype, post-movie discussion, and the random hours I spent thinking about it in the shower or sitting at a stop-light. Having said that, this is my list of movies that 2015 blessed us with, and maybe a few the year cursed us with.

Film Review: ‘Clouds of Sils Maria’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 24th, 2015

Janet W., Here…

o-CLOUDS-OF-SILS-facebook

Clouds of Sils Maria opens as Maria Enders (Juliette Binoche), an accomplished actress, is headed to Zurich to accept an award on behalf of the director, Wilhelm Melchior, which launched her career with his play, Maloja Snake.  She travels with her personal assistant, Valentin (Kristen Stewart), who does everything for her as well as run lines with her and judge the depth of the characters and the scripts.  On their travels, they meet a director, Klaus Diesterweg (Lars Eidinger), who was working with Wilhelm wants Enders to act in the sequel to Maloja Snake.  Diesterweg does not want Enders to reprise her role as Sigrid, but as Sigrid’s lesbian lover, Helena.  Helena is the opposite of Sigrid and is much older thus springs Enders’ reluctance to accept the role.  A young, forthright, and darn right scandalous actress is to take the role of Sigrid, Jo-Ann Ellis (Chloë Grace Moretz).

Film Review: ‘Ouija’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 24th, 2014

Beka P., Here….

Screen-Shot-2014-07-16-at-12.35.36-PM-620x400

Have no fear, there is nothing scary about Ouija. I was pretty apprehensive about going to see Ouija, mainly because I’m not a horror film gal, and confession: I’ve never seen one in a theater. These two things brought my level of anxiety to all time high as I walked into the theater. Fifteen minutes into the movie, I actually found myself laughing. It’s not that writers Juliet Snowden and Stiles White meant to be funny, rather the acting in combination with the screenplay was so pathetic you had to laugh. While I was relieved that nightmares weren’t in my future, I didn’t care at all about finding out what happened to Debbie (played by Shelley Hennig).

The ‘Twilight’ Saga Continues on Facebook?!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Oct 1st, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

51q43VqS6UL

Facebook is reviving characters that have been dead a long time. Prepare yourselves for the global sound of Twihards the world over to squeal with delight. Facebook is getting into the film game with ‘Twilight‘ short films. You read that right. Stephenie Meyer wrote what has become the ‘Twilight Saga‘. Beginning in 2005, Meyer released the first novel in a series that would grip fans of all ages and create characters that would be immortalized in film. While some of us were letting our broomsticks cool down from a wild ride with a boy wizard, cold vampires and hot werewolves were heating up readers pages again. The saga ran the length of four novels and one short story as a spinoff.

Film Review: ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 2 ‘

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 15th, 2012

Suzanne, Here….

This is the end – finally. After four books and five movies, Stephenie Meyer’s ode to the true love between an insipidly needy girl and an overbearing vampire is complete with the opening of Breaking Dawn, Part 2 (BD2). If you are a ‘tween or extremely bored and emotionally stunted older woman that loves this series, then you might want to stop reading this review.
