Hi, Bryan Here….

Writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) brings audiences This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see first-hand how they are dealing with their current state of life.  Looks like Apatow is straying a bit away from the toilet humor with each film he makes.  This looks very good, however I will miss Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Martin Starr, and Jonah Hill in this film.  Enjoy the trailer.  ‘This is 40’ releases December 21st, 2012.

A Retrospective Look Back at the year 2007 in Movies!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 20th, 2017

Written by: Dan Moran

It has been a decade since we have had an overwhelmingly great year of movies. There have been some ‘great movies’ for sure, that have been released since 2007, but a collective year of dominance like 2007 hasn’t been experienced in 10 years. We have to start with the films that people still talk about today from 2007. No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, & Zodiac. I mean what a Top 3 for one calendar year!  The closest we got to this was in 2015 when the Top 3 was, Mad Max: Fury Road, Mad Max: Fury Road, & Mad Max: Fury Road.

Film Review: ‘Trainwreck’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 15th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

NEbTciZPpnq3ei_1_b

Comedy mastermind Judd Apatow is back this year with a new feature film called ‘Trainwreck‘ and is his best film since ‘Knocked Up‘. That was eight years ago. Sure, Apatow has written and produced dozens of films since then, but has only really directed two other feature films since, being ‘Funny People‘ and ‘This is 40‘. The usual actors are nowhere to be seen in ‘Trainwreck‘ either. There is no Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel, Martin Starr, or even James Franco to be seen anywhere on screen. Actress and comedienne Amy Schumer wrote the screenplay here for Apatow to direct and the two are a perfect pair.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

texas

It’s been 30 years since we first saw Pee-Wee on the big screen in ‘Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure‘, which was Tim Burton’s first feature film he directed. And we’ve been reporting for some time now that Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee) has been developing a couple of new feature films with Judd Apatow (‘Knocked Up‘).

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

APATOW-articleLarge

The guy who brought us ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin‘, ‘Knocked Up‘, and ‘Funny People‘ has a new film called ‘Trainwreck‘. Yes, Judd Apatow is back in the director’s seat again, this time with the beautiful comedienne Amy Schumer in the lead role. Apatow has really evolved as a filmmaker since ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin‘ in telling better and more personal stories of relationships, but still having those hilarious dick jokes and gross-out gags to make us belly laugh.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

thesimpsons_jan11

Director Judd Apatow (‘Knocked Up‘, ‘Freaks and Geeks’, ‘40 Year Old Virgin‘) wrote a ‘Simpsons‘ script back in 1990, which was when he was just 23 years old. Also back in 1990 was when ‘The Simpsons‘ first aired as its own series apart from the ‘Tracey Ullman‘ show. When Apatow wrote the script, the series was just six episodes in. Whatever happened to this script? Well since Apatow back then wasn’t known in the business, I’m sure the Fox execs didn’t pay attention to his screenplay.

Film Review: ‘Obvious Child’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 23rd, 2014

Hillary T., Here…

13917-3

This is a movie my husband wanted to see, but I didn’t have much of a desire to. I was totally unprepared for how this movie would make me feel. ‘Obvious Child‘ was an amazing and witty romp through an awkward life moment, and was executed very realistically and very well.

Harold Ramis: 1944-2014!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 24th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here….

Harold Ramis

This just sucks beyond belief. Actor/Writer/Director/Producer Harold Ramis passed away this morning at his home in Chicago. He is most known for playing Dr. Egon Spangler in the ‘Ghostbusters‘, meaning he was an actual Ghostbuster. He was 69. He started off at Second City and got his big break as a co-writer of the famous 1978 film ‘National Lampoon’s Animal House‘. He also wrote ‘Meatballs‘, which starred his friend Bill Murray.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Here is a much better trailer for the Apatow produced ‘The Five Year Engagement’.  The film is directed by Nicholas Stoller and stars Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Alison Brie, and Kevin Hart.  Stoller directed Segel in ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’.  Synopsis: Beginning where most romantic comedies end, the new film from director Nicholas Stoller, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Rodney Rothman (Get Him to the Greek) looks at what happens when an engaged couple, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle.  Enjoy the trailer.
