Hey guys, Jana here,

Kathryn Bigelow is the director behind ‘Zero Dark Thirty‘, ‘The Hurt Locker‘ and ‘K19: The Widowmaker‘ and she’s got a new project in the early stages of production. So early it’s just called an ‘Untitled Detroit Project‘ at the moment. It’s a crime drama written by Mark Boal, set in Detroit 1967. The project will tackle a police raid resulting in one of the largest citizen uprisings in United States’ history spanning 5 days. It’s planned for a 2017 release date just in time for the 50th anniversary of the riots.

Film Review: ‘[Detroit]’!!

by Janet White on Jul 29th, 2017

Hello Everyone, Janet W.  here…

Fifty years ago (to the day I screened Detroit), atrocities occurred in Detroit, Michigan. July 25, 1967 has been a day of woe for generations past and will be for those to come. Effectively capturing the events of this time, Detroit offers a raw in-your-face journey into the debasement of human beings simply because of their color. Such actions led to outrage which brewed to boiling over due to criminal misconduct and murder performed by police officers escalated to several days of rioting and worse. Black people helping the crooked cops unlawfully abuse and imprison other black people. Read the rest of this entry »

Two Dramas Vie For HBO’s Sunday Night Lineup!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jun 7th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

HBO is looking to switch up their Sunday nights from the iron grip ‘Game of Thrones‘ currently holds on the network. The powers that be have realized that heavy, serial drama is what their customers love so they’re checking out a few new sources to come in to play as the world of Westeros could be wrapping up. Among the projects in contention for the coveted Sunday night slots are ‘Succession‘ and ‘Mogadishu, Minnesota‘.

Hi, Bryan Here….

The Golden Globes were last night and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler killed it. They were amazing.  Even former president Bill Clinton showed up to talk about Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln‘.  Even though I really liked the film ‘Argo‘, I was shocked when it won best film and director for Ben Affleck. I was happy to see ‘Django Unchained‘ win for best supporting actor for Christoph Waltz and screenplay for Tarantino. If this is any pre-cursor to the Oscars, I’d be completely let down if ‘Argo‘ takes it all.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great film, but not the best film of the year.  I expect it to and want it to win the best adapted screenplay.  Just my opinion.  Below are the full results from last night’s show.

Hi, Bryan Here…..

Earlier this morning, Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone announced the Oscar nominations, which MacFarlane came across as pretty funny.  I’m excited for him to host the Oscars this year.  And, his film ‘Ted‘ actually got nominated. How cool is that?  Below is the full list of Oscar nominations.  Let us know what you think.  We will be posting a separate article soon on Oscar snubs, because believe me, there are many.  And don’t forget, we will be doing our annual LIVE OSCAR COMMENTARY, which will mark the 6th time we have done it.  It promises tons of laughs.

Film Review: ‘Zero Dark Thirty’

by Woozie on Jan 3rd, 2013

Suzanne here,

It would be very easy when creating a movie about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden to take an “America, Fuck Yeah” kind of tone, but director Kathryn Bigelow and writer Mark Boal achieve something much more valuable. Zero Dark Thirty instead presents a quietly intense story about a woman obsessed and a methodical illustration of how U.S. intelligence worked to ultimately take down the architect of 911. Hi, Bryan Here….

The nominations came in this morning and needless to say, I went into a fit of rage.  I mean I was so mad, I almost wrote a letter.  After going through the list of nominees, while some of the noms were well deserved, many were not, especially in the FILM categories.  There needs to be a serious uprooting process at the Golden Globes where everyone involved in voting needs to be replaced by others who know what they’re doing.

A Couple of Bin Laden Films Already In The Works!!!!

by Bryan Kluger on May 2nd, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

So by now, we all know that President Obama ordered the badass assault on Osama Bin Laden this past week when a team of highly trained brutal ninja Navy Seals stormed a mansion and took out the terrorist leader.  Now considering all that intelligence, and all the weapons, the combat, the blood, and the headshot that killed Osama, this would make one BADASS film.  I’m thinking Expendables meets Commando.
