James Cameron Wants to Make 4 ‘Avatar’ Films!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 7th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

I guess we won’t be getting that sequel to ‘True Lies’ anytime soon, because James Cameron will only be making ‘Avatar’ films.  He doesn’t even want to produce any other films.  He just wants to make and possibly live in the world of ‘Avatar’.  The New York Times did an interview with Cameron over the weekend, and  he had confirmed that he was going to make at least three more ‘Avatar’ films.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Director James Cameron recently spoke with the good folks at GuardianUK and mentioned that he wants to make the sequel to Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’.  Let’s not forget that Ridley Scott directed the first ‘Alien’ film while James Cameron followed that up with his sequel ‘Aliens’.  It’s only fitting that the two directors would direct the prequels one after the other.

Interview with James C. Leary!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 16th, 2014

Hillary T., Here…

james-charles-leary-305594

As a huge fan of Buffy, I couldn’t believe it when my friend Michael Champion posted a picture from DCC Fan Appreciation Day with James C. Leary, known for his role as “Clem” on seasons six and seven of Buffy the  Vampire Slayer. I thought to myself, “How does he know THAT guy?” So I did what any good Fangirl would do, I stalked his Facebook page. Turns out his path and mine were about to cross in a seriously awesome way- James works in Austin, at company run my by, none other than my brother. This was my IN, my way to a dialogue. My message to him on FB starts, “So do you know Josef Hall?”

Blu-ray Review: ‘Muppets Most Wanted’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 14th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

MuppetsMostWantedBlurayCombo_jpg_rgb

THE FILM

It’s very difficult to find a sequel that’s as good as the original. There aren’t a lot out there that are great sequels, but when they do come along, they are remembered forever. And maybe what worked so well for the first Muppet film that starred Jason Segel and Amy Adams is that it had a human element to it, and didn’t just follow the Muppets around. That’s not to say that this sequel ‘Muppets: Most Wanted‘ isn’t a lot of fun and very entertaining. It is, but it doesn’t have that magic that the last one had.

Hey everyone, Jana here,

Fox Broadcasting Company, Twentieth Century Fox Television And FX Celebrates Their 2012 Emmy Nominees

James Van Der Beek has come a long way from being the whiny Dawson, the boy with his own creek. JVDB has tried to maintain his TV presence with parts here and there or in a few shows as the star. ‘Don’t Trust The B—- in Apartment 23‘ was an entirely ridiculous plot with JVDB playing himself and ‘Friends With Better Lives‘ did not hold widespread appeal to fans or advertisers and it was canceled. Some people might slink off into the unknown depths after a couple of failures, but you don’t know JVDB apparently. You don’t make a name for yourself by crying on a ridiculous teen drama without being able to rise above the petty crap a show like that can saddle you with.

Director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire), is not in danger of being out of work any time soon. After releasing Trance in March of this year, the versatile director is turning his attention to the small screen. In the US, he’s partnering with his Slumdog Millionaire writer and producer Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours and the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and Christian Colson (127 Hours and Trance) for a 10 part WWII miniseries.

James Gandolfini left an emptiness in his wake, especially for those of us that loved him on HBO. His legacy lives on with HBO, as befits Gandolfini’s biggest and arguably best starring role in, the numerous award winning, ‘The Sopranos‘.  Gandolfini played a role in the ‘Criminal Justice‘ pilot, that will be filled by none other than, Oscar winner, Robert De Niro. The actor who is no stranger to playing mafia characters has stepped into the vacated too soon size 12’s James Gandolfini left behind after his untimely death in June of this year. Robert DeNiro is a legend in his own right playing such famous parts in ‘Taxi Driver‘, ‘Godfather II‘, ‘Raging Bull‘, and ‘The Untouchables‘ to just name a few.

FX Wants An ‘American Psycho’ Series!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 11th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

 american_psycho-1

Looks like Patrick Bateman will still be returning videotapes, as FX wants the ‘American Psycho‘ storyline and characters for a tv series. Allison Shearmur and Stefan Jaworski are behind the project. ‘American Psycho‘ was first a novel written by Brett Easton Ellis, and is still considered one of the best books of the decade. In 2000, a movie was made based on the book that starred Christian Bale as Bateman, a successful CEO in 1980’s New York who moonlights as a sadistic serial killer.

James-Cameron-directing-Avatar

James Cameron has confirmed that he will begin work in 2017 on a new project titled ‘Battle Angel‘, a project he has wanted and talked about doing for some time now. But after his huge box office success with ‘Avatar‘, which has brought over $2.8 billion for 20th Century Fox, Cameron is set to do two more ‘Avatar‘ movies. And why shouldn’t he? He is being given an unlimited amount of time and creative control on everything.

Hi, Bryan Here….

dr_no_3d_bluray

Okay, I’m making a rule. Studios, you can no longer take old vintage films and give them a 3D transfer. We don’t want it, and we certainly don’t want to pay overpriced ticket prices to see it again. I doubt anyone will listen to me, but if we all say something, maybe they will stop this madness. Why do I say this? Well, it seems that James Bond, particularly the old Bond films will be re-released in theaters and blu-ray in 3D. Not happy about this.

James Spader Will Exit ‘The Office’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 27th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here…..

That’s right, James Spader will leave ‘The Office’ after this season.  He originally only wanted a one season arc and only wanted to be in fifteen of the episodes for one season.  Studio execs granted his wishes.  “James always wanted this to be a one-year arc, and he now leaves us having created one of the most enigmatic and dynamic characters in television,” said “Office” executive producer Paul Lieberstein. “He’s been a great friend to me and the show, helping us successfully transition into the post-Michael Scott years, and I’m grateful for that.”

Hi Bryan Here…

Some very cool footage of the FX work from tons of great films have come to light.  Such as the FX for the alien like fish water creatures from James Cameron’s The Abyss and the Superman suit and FX from Tim Burton’s failed attempt at the Superman film all those years ago plus much more.

Before James Cameron dives in heavy into the sequel for Avatar, he will be heading to Brazil again to make a documentary in 3-D no less about the indigenous tribes of the Amazon who strongly oppose the construction of a dam that will put their land at risk from flooding.  This sounds a lot like the film “The Emerald Forest” which was a great movie or of course “Avatar”.

Cameron said, “I want to return to meet some of the leaders of the Xikrin-Kayapo tribe who invited me. I want to take a 3D camera to film how they live, their culture.”

We will get to see a peak at this documentary on the upcoming “Avatar” special edition dvd and blu-ray.

I don’t really know why this documentary would want to be in 3-D.  What’s the point?  Will I want to pay the extra money to see it in 3-D?  Probably not.  Cameron’s Titanic documentary was badass though and if this documentary is anything like that, then I will be there to see it.

Let’s all get DEMONIC for Halloween!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 3rd, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

A new horror film titled Demonic is coming to DVD and Digital HD on October 10 from Lionsgate that stars Frank Grillo and Maria Bello. I haven’t seen it yet, but the trailers look pretty good. Also, James Wan (The Conjuring, Saw) produced the film. This all releases just in time for Halloween. Let it also be known that Demonic is a Rated R horror film that is under 90 minutes. It’s like this movie speaks to me.

I wouldn't want to live his life because he hasn't been happy all of his life. All I think is if you can find work, stay healthy, find somebody to share it with, you're the ultimate success. He's had some of the pieces of the puzzle, but not all of them.
