Writer director M. Night Shyamalan (‘The Sixth Sense‘) went from one of the most exciting directors to a cliche joke seemingly overnight after ‘The Village‘ and, especially, the floating turd that was ‘Lady in the Water‘. The man heralded as “the next Spielberg” has seen his stock rise in 2015 with ‘The Visit‘ and once again with ‘Split‘ which many put on par with ‘The Sixth Sense‘. It’s ‘Split‘ that is gathering attention today with the announcement from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment of it’s release to Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD and On Demand.

Film Review: ‘SPLIT’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 18th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

M. Night Shyamalan has sure given us some wonderful and unforgettable films over the years. Somewhere along the way, Shyamalan lost his way as a filmmaker. So much so, that the studios would leave his name off all advertisements for the movie. It wasn’t until ‘The Visit‘ when Shyamalan came into the good graces of his fans again. Perhaps this is because he only had a very small budget to work with and got creative control without a ton of studio interference to do his own creative work. Now we have a new small budget film from Shyamalan called ‘Split‘, and is yet another step forward for the filmmaker in the third part of his career, which seems to drop the Spielberg aspect and go straight for the B-Movie genre.

Victor-Frankenstein-Movie-2016-James-McAvoy

Is there any real need to make another Frankenstein movie?  Probably not.   Is there any real need to add extra cheese to a pizza?  Of course not.  Why do we do it then?  Because, sometimes it’s just too awesome not to do.

La_desaparici_n_de_Eleanor_Rigby_l-934234247-large

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby‘ is a very special movie. It is shot in three different perspectives: His, Hers, and Them. The one I saw was THEM. It’s a very interesting concept and I wasn’t sure I would embrace it. I was worried that this movie was going to be pretentious, and too “artsy.” I have spent the better part of twelve hours trying to put into proper words how this movie made me feel. It tore my heart out and ripped it apart and put it back together, over and over. I sat and cried through this movie, over 75% the time. I couldn’t get over how brutally stunning it is.

Hello Jana here,

Max Landis

Script writer Max Landis is a common denominator with several projects that are either in production or pre-production. In the wake of 2012’s ‘Chronicle‘, we find Landis’ name attached to at least 5 projects that are slated for release in 2015. the highly anticipated ‘Frankenstein‘ which will star James McAvoy as the titular Dr. Frankenstein and in a strange casting turn, Daniel Radcliffe is set to star as Igor. Another screenplay Landis has written is making some noise with a new casting choice.

Hi Bryan Here….

I still haven’t had a chance to see this yet, but I have been hearing great things.  It really seems like they did this X-Men film right.  If only they got director Matthew Vaughn to direct ‘X3’.  But so far, people are saying this is right at the top with the best superhero films out there and one of the most satisfying films of the year.  Can’t wait to see it.  Enjoy FedMex’s review below.
