Director Russell Mulcahy (‘Highlander‘, ‘Resident Evil: ExtinctionMTV’s ‘Teen Wolf‘) is taking on a slightly less supernatural project, an Errol Flynn biopic, ‘In Like Flynn‘. The film stars Thomas Cocquerel as Flynn. While Cocquerel will play the younger Flynn, an older Flynn is portrayed by the stars real life grandson, Luke Flynn who co-wrote the script and produces.

Trailer Analysis – Being Flynn

by Justin Cline on Nov 19th, 2011

It’s so hard to imagine why Hollywood would want to change the title of the memoir that provides the basis for Being Flynn.  I cannot fathom the individual who wouldn’t want to see a movie called Another Bullshit Night in Suck City. Read the rest of this entry »

Hello ladies! Look at your man, now back to me – whoops, sorry about that. As you know, it’s Valentine’s Day once again. And as this overly-commercialized excuse for a holiday rears its ugly head, we take a reflective look back at our lives and at the choices we’ve made concerning our relationships. Some of you will realize that maybe the gap-toothed ex-con biker named “Bubba” might not have been the best choice for a mate (“but he’s a real sweetheart once you get to know him!”). Unfortunately, now you’re “in like Flynn” with his whole clique, and before you know it, you’re drinking homemade moonshine with the rest of his recently released buddies in the middle of backwoods nowhere (if you hear banjos – run). That isn’t to say that everyone makes bad decisions. Some women seem to have a gift for finding the right people to surround themselves with – or have a real knack for how to handle the bad apples that come along – and that can make all the difference between a smooth sailing adventure and a total train wreck experience.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Brainscan’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 3rd, 2018

Remember when computers, the internet, and CD-ROM games were first all the rage in the early 1990s? I certainly do. So did Hollywood, which is why they decided to make a string of films based on that fact. One of the horror films that fit this bill was ‘Brainscan‘, which starred the short-lived popular kid Edward Furlong, mostly known as the young John Connor in ‘T2: Judgement Day‘. The film follows a young teenager who lives in his dad’s wealthy abode but is never around to take care of him.

Film Review: ‘Dark Places’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 6th, 2015

Hillary T., Here…

Dark-Places-Movie-2015-starring-Charlize-Theron-and-Nicholas-Hoult

Gillian Flynn wrote three books: Sharp Objects, Dark Places and Gone Girl. She has a very distinct writing style and the books are filled with a darkness and a narrative that is riveting and disturbing and draws you in. It’s what makes her books so enjoyable and so suspenseful.

Hey guys, Jana here,

tangled

Disney has made the day a big one for announcements and there is one more to add to the list. Disney Channel has put into motion an animated series based on the 2010 feature film, ‘Tangled‘. One of the greatest things that irritated me about a series based on an excellent film is the voices are always different. Kind of close, if we’re lucky, but never quite what we are used to, until now. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will reprise their roles as Rapunzel and Eugene or Flynn Rider.

Jana’s Best/Worst of 2014!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 15th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

It’s been a big year for the entertainment world. Netflix’s initial push to bring movie-theater worthy films straight to streaming customers and bypassing the big screen altogether set off a chain of deals that will take those fresh releases and push them directly into homes allowing us to bypass a $15.00 soda, but denying us the $20.00 popcorn you can only get at the theater. Then came the deluge of series and movies being made for exclusive run with everyone from Netflix, Amazon to Crackle and everything in between. Top that off with the huge breach of privacy Sony experienced. New releases were flooded onto P2P sharing sites and private emails from the film company’s big wigs that show us how the infrastructure of Sony really works, not to mention what those involved really think of some of their superstars.

‘Gone Girl’ Writer to Pen ‘Utopia’ for HBO!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 13th, 2014

Jana B. here,

Utopia

David Fincher’s name is synonymous with a successful film franchise, and for using Brad Pitt in his work.  Films like ‘Fight Club‘, ‘Se7en‘, and ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button‘ have all been huge box office hits and when we hear Fincher’s name, we expect more of the same. After a successful TV debut with Netflix’sHouse of Cards‘, he is ready to take on another series, like ‘House of Cards’ it is a British remake, and will be aired on HBO. The drama series project is based on the Channel 4 series, ‘Utopia‘, created by Dennis Kelly and produced by Kudos. ‘Utopia‘ enjoys a successful following on Channel 4 and in January of 2013 was picked up for a second season to air later this year.

Hi, Bryan Here…

Dwayne-Johnson-the-rock-1

Yes folks, that is correct.  The Rock will be starring in a teddy bear film, but not the sequel to the Seth MacFarlane vehicle ‘Ted‘. This one is different.  And you will be surprised on where the idea came from.  So we all have heard famous stories on how some movies were written, some were from the idea of a child and some were written on a cocktail napkin while sitting at a bar.  But this time, the story for this film was based on an image.  An image made popular by the popular websites Imgur and Reddit.  I couldn’t make this up if I tried.
