Good news everyone.  IFC Midnight announced today that the company is acquiring North American rights to director Rodney Ascher’s highly acclaimed documentary ROOM 237 which concerns the theories surrounding and within Stanley Kubrick’s film THE SHINING. The film, which was produced by Tim Kirk and scored by Jonathan Snipes and William Hutson, recently played at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. IFC Midnight plans to release the film theatrically this year.

Hi Bryan Here….

Now most of you know I am a HUGE fan of Kubrick’ work.  Anything related to the director, I want to read, watch, and cherish.  There was a documentary that premiered at Sundance recently entitled ‘Room 237’.  It is a documentary on the Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’ movie.  Not the one made by his daughter that is shown on the DVD, but rather a different type of documentary that explores the insane conspiracy theories and subtext of the “real meaning” of ‘The Shining’.

Hi Bryan Here….

IFC has picked up two new scripted comedy series, ‘Comedy Bang! Bang!’ and ‘Bunk’. Both have received orders for 10 episodes to premiere back-to-back in June as a one-hour original comedy block.  From my guess, with the somewhat success of ‘Portlandia’, IFC is getting more into the original programming.  But by the sounds of these two new series, I don’t see them lasting very long.

A couple of very cool, indie horror movies are making their way to Blu-ray on November 7th from Scream Factory and IFC Midnight. They are ‘Killing Ground‘ and ‘Darkness Rising‘, which you can read about below. Both films are terrifying and very well made, and I hope the filmmakers are on their way to make more movies. I even got to talk with the director of ‘Killing Ground’ – Damien Power a while ago about his process and inspiration in the horror genre. He’s a director to watch out for. I can’t wait for you all to see these.

WWE: Money in the Bank 2017 Predictions!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 16th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

WWE_MITB_2017_Poster

Strung 20 feet high over the center of squared circle, there hangs a metal briefcase with a contract inside. That contract guarantees one WWE superstar a match at anytime, anywhere for the biggest championship in the business. On July 18th in 2010, WWE held their first ever Money in the Bank PPV held in Kansas City, which was met with an abundant amount of praise. The WWE superstars must climb a very tall ladder and unhook the briefcase to win the match. There are no rules, no disqualifications, and all weapons and interferences are legal.

Gene Wilder June 11, 1933 – August 29, 2016

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 29th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

gene-wilder-blazingsaddles-5

Gene Wilder passed away today at the age of 83. He is one of my favorite actors and he elicits a smile from me when I just see his picture. He is neck and neck with Robin Williams for being my favorite comedic actor and his death rocks the film community where he made some of his most lasting contributions.

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

The planets have aligned perfectly, up is down, dogs and cats are living together, and now Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg are teaming up once again for a new unscripted show for VH1 called ‘Martha and Snoop’s Dinner Party‘. These two are no strangers, as Snoop and Martha baked “magical” brownies on her show a few years ago. I guess they had more than high times, because VH1 has ordered a 10 episode first season if the show, which will debut in the fall.

Hey guys, Jana here,

One of my favorite actors in the game, John C. McGinley is equally funny and fierce. It’s fantastic seeing whatever new project he’s involved in because he can do it all so well. The most perfect and obvious example would be to look at the characters in two of his most well-known projects. TV Series ‘Scrubs‘ and ‘Platoon‘. I love, or at least watch everything he’s been involved in. I’m going to have one more show to check out now that McGinley has signed for the lead in IFC’s new scripted series ‘Stan Against Evil‘.
