Amazon is continuing to make strides in their original comedy series offerings. Amazon is not new to the comedy game with strong foot holds in the genre with original hits like ‘Transparent‘, ‘Mozart In The Jungle‘, ‘One Mississippi‘, and ‘Catastrophe‘. These just aren’t fan favorites, but have been lauded by critics and their peers as well with Golden Globe and Emmy awards. by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 7th, 2017

thumbnail_25315

There is a new trailer for a movie called ‘Snatched‘, which stars Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn as mother and daughter who vacation in the tropics together, but somehow end up “snatched” and kidnapped by some evil people. So Goldie Hawn came out of retirement to do this movie? It’s been 15 years since we last saw Goldie in a film, but I guess she is passing the torch to Amy Schumer here. The film is directed by Jonathan Levine who made ‘50/50‘, ‘Warm Bodies‘, and ‘The Night Before‘.

by Janet White on Jan 27th, 2017

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

Gold - Ramirez, McConaughey & Howard

A prospector… Gold Rush pioneers or Yosemite Sam have nothing on the belief of Kenny Wells (Matthew McConaughey). Kenny comes from a prestigious line of miners. His grandfather founded Washoe Mining Co. and built a sterling reputation until his death. Under Kenny’s leadership, the company suffered a plummet in profits. All Kenny had in the world was Kay (Bryce Dallas Howard) who gives new meaning to the phrase “stand by your man.” Suddenly, Kenny sees the pathway to his future in a dream. Along with the scientific expertise of Mike Acosta (Edgar Ramírez), Washoe’s blood turns red and hot. Read the rest of this entry »

One project by legendary author Stephen King is just not enough for Academy Award winning writer Akiva Goldsman. He is attached to the script for the adaptation of King’s legendary ‘The Dark Tower‘ which has been making some progress, attaching actors at this point. Goldman has just signed on to adapt ‘Doctor Sleep‘, the long anticipated sequel to King’s chiller ‘The Shining‘.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

beach

Interesting news is afoot with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This is the End, Preacher). The writing/directing duo purchased the rights to the ‘Where’s Waldo‘ franchise back in 2011 and it looks like MGM is ready to greenlight a live action version of it. You remember ‘Where’s Waldo‘ – the guy in the striped wool hat that is dressed in red, white, and blue, with glasses that you spent hours looking for in many books. The screenplay is written by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir, who according to Deadline have been taken under the wings of Goldberg and Rogen for some time now.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

The awards show is January 10 on NBC hosted by Ricky Gervais. First off, let’s look at something AWESOME here. ‘MAD MAX: FURY ROAD‘ is nominated for BEST PICTURE. It needs to win. It should win. And if does win, we all go streaking. That being said…I can’t believe that ‘Me and Earl and the Dying Girl‘ was not nominated for anything. Come on. It’s one of the BEST films of the year. It’s also interesting to see no love for the final season of ‘Mad Men’ her either. Oh well.

Here is the list of nominees:

Hey guys, Jana here,

"This Is The End" At The 5th Annual Summer Of Sony

Sometimes an idea begins as a movie but seems better suited to a series order after working up the project for a bit, such is the case with ‘Future Man‘, a comedy from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, slated as a half-hour comedy picked up by Hulu. The pitch from Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir had a bit of a bidding war between networks of all shape and size was ultimately won over by Sony Pictures TV. Point Grey Pictures, Matt Tolmach Productions will be producing with Sony.

WOMAN IN GOLD

The Piano.  Schindler’s List. I have seen films about the Holocaust and the invasion of countries by the Nazi regime.  Along comes Woman in Gold a true story about one woman’s fight against Nazi-sympathizing Austria.  Mrs. Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren) loses her sister and within her sister’s belongings finds a postcard of Gustav Klimt’sWoman in Gold” painting.  Shortly after this find, Austria announces their intent to restore stolen artwork to their rightful owners namely the Jewish families who were robbed by the Nazis when they invaded Austria.  Randy (Ryan Reynolds) is a down on his luck attorney who failed at his solo practice.
