It was so much fun. This episode is guaranteed to thrill you, chill you, and fulfill you.

Hey guys, Jana here,

283208_5_

When I think about ‘Friday The 13th‘, I envision a hockey masked psycho hacking dumb teenagers apart, if only they’d stop having sex in the woods! I have these images because there have been about a million movies made on the popular franchise, but how would a TV series based off the films go down? We’ve got some ideas.

‘Friday the 13th’ Revamped as TV Series!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 26th, 2014

Hello, Jana here,

friday-series_616

I love a good slasher movie. I love when the air gets cooler, days get dark earlier and I’m curled up inside the house with windows open, some candles lit and watching someone’s newest vision of whatever maniac of the moment is on my screen.  Sometimes the more they remake a slasher, the better they end up being. Of course I’m a giant fan of bad movies, bad horror films to be exact. Now I see one of my favorite horror series ‘Friday the 13th‘ is being courted for not only a remake, but a remake of platform as well. This isn’t another movie version we’re talking about, this will be developed into a 1-hour long TV show.

‘Friday the 13th’ Is Getting Remade Again!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 17th, 2014

Hello, Jana here,

Friday-the-13th-2009-horror-movies-23926925-1600-1200

Hollywood has a lot of tricks up its collective sleeve.  Yet for all these tricks, they go back to the same wells time and time again. It’s annoying and it’s sad. To use a phrase from ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ by Elton John “Maybe you’ll get a replacement, There’s plenty like me to be Found”.  This is what every new release means to another new release. For every completely original offering from film makers, we receive a hundred re-makes of movies that were good, some that were crap, some ideas that were both crap and should have died in the original. This film announcement is putting it all together.

Hi, Bryan Here….

jasonVorheesFridaythe13thRemake

So yes. A couple of years ago they did in fact reboot ‘Friday the 13th‘. You’re not crazy. But we live in a day in age now where Hollywood is remaking remakes. It’s sad and pathetic. That being said, I will take any ‘Friday the 13th‘ movie that is new in the theater. What can I say, I’m a sucker for Jason Vorhees hacking up dumb teens, even in space.

Hi, Bryan Here….

That pilot for Syfy’s ‘Battlestar Galactica’ prequel series titled ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome’ will finally be airing on Friday.  It will only be online this Friday, but after this weekend there will be a Blu-ray/DVD/VOD release.  It’s sad that SYFY passed on this series, which I don’t understand.  BSG was a huge hit for them, and the trailer we debuted a few months ago generated tons of hype.

Record Store Day Black Friday 2011 Delivers Again

by NapkinArt on Nov 21st, 2011

As long as I can remember Thanksgiving has been my favorite holiday. There really is no holiday on the calendar that centers around food and family, and it’s the one day of the year where it is ok to stuff yourself into a food coma. Thanksgiving is also a favorite holiday for many, but many love the holiday because of the shopping day after known as ‘Black Friday.’

The older I get the less inclined I feel to venture out into the crazy public and spend money the day after Thanksgiving, especially since I feelcompletely lethargic after all that turkey and stuffing. But thanks to Record Store Day Black Friday, I again have an excuse to spend some cash on music and perhaps walk off some of those calories. Read the rest of this entry »

A Celebration of Friday the 13th In Horror!!!

by Bryan Kluger on May 13th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

This is the sister “holiday” of Halloween in my book.  It’s all thanks to that wonderful killer mute character and that string of films that makes us all happy to throw back a bloody mary and watch horror films at midnight with friends and watch out for that boogeyman early on in the summer.  One of the reasons I love Jason Voorhees and the Friday the 13th films so much is that Jason never says anything which I think makes him much more creepier.  That silence is truly killer.   So in honor of Friday the 13th which comes maybe once or twice a year I have compiled some cool “behind the scenes” photos of the Friday the 13th films with some fun clips and some cool Friday the 13th sales.  ENJOY!!

GEMINI MAN – Film Review!

by Janet White on Oct 10th, 2019

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

A solid yet original action film is hard to find. Leave it to master cinematographer, Ang Lee, to fill the void. With Gemini Man, the virtual pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow, viewers will be wowed by the uniquely choreographed and shot action sequences. When Henry Brogan (Will Smith) can no longer view his visage in the mirror, it is definitely time to hang up the sniper rifle. However, when you are the best assassin in the world, can you just stop? Henry thought so. His employer, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and someone he doesn’t suspect beg to differ. Read the rest of this entry »

What do you get when the co-writer and director of ‘Mac and Me‘ have access to an animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex for two weeks? Something that looks a lot like ‘Robocop‘, but with high school students played by Denise Richards, Paul Walker, and a T-Rex. Of course, I’m talking about the infamous film ‘Tammy and the T-Rex‘.

Dan Moran’s ‘Black Panther’ Review!

by Bryan Kluger on Feb 16th, 2018

Admittedly, the easiest narrative for Black Panther reviews is that it is a “game-changer”, “important”, “redefines hero”, etc. Those narratives and feelings aren’t wrong. I think Black Panther is one of Marvel’s best stand-alone hero films. It is right behind The Winter Soldier and the original Iron Man for me. In a few years it may even eclipse those two as the distance and impact it has going forward is felt. I believe the cultural and racial themes of this film are well thought out, focused, bold, and sobering. To be perfectly honest I don’t feel comfortable writing about that aspect of the film in depth. I’m a 32 year old goofy white guy who is not a good enough writer to navigate that territory, plus I lack the experiences that would make my take worth reading. There are some incredible writers who have written on the overall cultural impact of (essentially) an all-black cast superhero film and I encourage all of you to seek those pieces out because they are worth your time. My review is going to focus on just how badass this movie is.
