Ready or Not – Film Review!
“‘Ready or Not’ is a bloody wonderful movie for all the right reasons.”
It’s a strange world we live in where Fox News and the horrible jackass in the White House conjure up bogus debates that ultimately led to the cancellation of a movie called ‘The Hunt‘, which followed a group of people who hunt and kill someone else with different political views. Now, its own movie studio (Fox Searchlight) has released ‘Ready or Not‘, which is practically the same story, but is more subtle in its satire of the political and class system in America. This incredible darkly comic film is part ‘The Purge‘ and part ‘Jumanji‘ in a twisted way where an uber-wealthy family looks to kill people who join their clan. It’s a hell of a fun ride that mixes great humor and bloody violence into a short run-time from the filmmaking club Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olphin and Tyler Gillett).

Film Review: ‘Battle of the Sexes’!!
Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…
The year was 1972; Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) had just won the US Open. Thrust into the mainstream limelight, emerged into the Women’s Lib movement, and treated as the lesser sex by the world, King breaks free from the bonds of the United States National Lawn Tennis Association. The USNLTA paid the female players considerably less than the male players for illogical reasons like men are the big ticket sellers; men need the money for their families, etc. With her trusted friend and manager, Gladys Heldman (Sarah Silverman), along with her and other female tennis players the face of tennis was forever changed.
Goodbye Christopher Robin has a Trailer!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
Looks like Fox Searchlight made a Winnie the Pooh movie without Winnie the Pooh. Instead, they Star Wars prequel-ed it and are bringing us a film called Goodbye Christopher Robin, which nobody wants to see. The film stars Domhall Gleeson, Margot Robbie, and Kelly McDonald that all takes place before Winnie the Pooh was even a thing. In fact, it’s about creating the honey-loving bear and his friends, along with some boring family love and drama. At least there looks to be some Nam-style war flashbacks. Honestly, I might just take a nap and you all can fill me in on this.
Nicholas Hoult Front Runner For Part of J.R.R. Tolkien In Biopic!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
We all know the movies based on the books of J.R.R. Tolkien (‘The Lord of the Rings‘ and ‘The Hobbit‘ trilogies), but not many knew the man. Chernin Entertainment for Fox Searchlight have set Dome Karukoski at the task of directing a biopic of the author. Nicholas Hoult is the front-runner to take on the part of the gifted author.
Woody Harrelson is ‘Wilson’!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
Woody Harrelson is having a few big years and for good reason. The guy is just genuinely likable and a badass. His next big film is called ‘Wilson‘ and will premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. ‘Wilson‘ is directed by Craig Johnson (‘Skeleton Twins‘), written by Daniel Clowes (‘Art School Confidential‘, ‘Ghost World‘), and produced by Alexander Payne (‘Election‘, ‘Sideways‘, ‘About Schmidt‘, ‘The Descendants‘, ‘Nebraska‘). Need I say, “HOLY SHIT”, what a cast and crew already. If that weren’t enough, you can add Laura Dern, Judy Greer, and Cheryl Hines to the cast as well. Fox Searchlight now has a trailer and new poster for the film, which looks excellent.

This past week, the guys started filming in Boston and have brought aboard actor Rob Lowe to star alongside them.

Bryan Sits Down With ‘Snowflower and the Secret Fan’!!! (A Review)
Hi Bryan Here….
‘Snowflower and the Secret Fan’ is a film by Wayne Wang who is probably most known for his film ‘The Joy Luck Club’. Over the years Wang has directed movies such as ‘Smoke’, ‘Because of Winn-Dixie’, and ‘Maid in Manhattan’. These are a far cry from ‘Joy Luck Club’, ‘A Thousand Years of Good Prayers’ and his most recent ‘Snowflower and the Secret Fan’. I must say I am happy to see Wang return to the Chinese American storylines in his films. He does this effortlessly. ‘Snowflower and the Secret Fan’ is based on the novel by Lisa See.
