Booksmart – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 9th, 2019

“Every generation needs representation and ‘Booksmart’ is a solid addition to the canon of teen films.”

Being accepted into a university, let alone ‘Ivy League’ can require years of preparation. But imagine dedicating every waking moment to the pursuit of education, only to find out your slacker classmates (who have never sacrificed a social calling) will attend equally prestigious colleges? That’s exactly where two lifelong friends find themselves in Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut, ‘Booksmart’. This whacky comedy goes for the fail-safe blunder-year belly laughs, but it also distinguishes itself by spotlighting themes of feminism, LGBTQ liberation and the rarely displayed accuracies of life as a young woman.

Film Review: ‘Book Club’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 17th, 2018

Nothing says ‘Ladies’ Night’ quite like clinking glasses and a crisp bottle of Pinot Grigio. As four lifelong friends continue their tradition of gathering to gossip and discuss the latest read, one attempts to spice up their collectively drab lives by introducing a saucy trilogy to the table. ‘Book Club‘ is a playful commentary on having fun no matter your age or stage in life, and although this comedy is predictable and oozing with cheesy brie, it counteracts with uproariously endless humor from a top-notch cast.

Kathy Bates Slings Weed In Netflix Comedy Series!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jul 14th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

netflix-logo-small

Netflix is adding a series to their original project roster and this one seems loaded for comedy gold. CBS’s Chuck Lorre and former ‘Daily Show‘ writer David Javerbaum are writing the laugher, ‘Disjointed‘, and it’s received a 20-episode straight-to-series order starring Kathy Bates.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

SVZ_Teaser 1-Sht_Frame (3)

We’ve seen a ton of zombie movies and television shows over the past few years. We’ve seen alien zombies, nazi zombies, cockney zombies, Russian zombies, and even pot zombies. However, it seems like the next genre of zombies is just around the corner, waiting to sink its mangled teeth into us, which brings us to ‘Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse‘. That’s right, Boy Scouts and Zombies, and I must say that this film looks AMAZINGLY hilarious and bloody.

John Stamos Thrusting Back To TV In Four Projects!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 2nd, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

john stamos

John Stamos may be best known for his gig on ‘Full House‘ as Uncle Jesse, but it’s unfair to characterize his acting range by constantly putting him in that box. He’s still just as swoon-worthy as he was in the 80’s which has to help his bankability when he’s auditioning for a new role.

As of now, he’s got a couple of high-profile projects in the works. He’s currently the frontrunner as the male lead of ABC’s midseason drama series, ‘Members Only‘. The actor born with the last name Stamotopoulos (Thank God he shortened that one!) is looking to topline and executive produce the unnamed comedy series in the works, also with ABC Studios and will be working with comedy producer Dan Fogelman (‘The Neighbors‘).  Not to mention the most highly anticipated return to television of all – ‘Full House‘, which is in a reboot phase at Warner Bros. TV.

Heard About ‘Stage Fright’, The Horror Musical!?!?

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 6th, 2014

Jana B. here,

Stage Fright

Genre-bending features are not a really new thing. When they’re done right though, we stand up and cheer. Remember ‘Zombieland‘, a grisly zombie flick that made us scream – with laughter? ‘The Cabin in the Woods‘, ‘Shaun of the Dead‘, ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show‘? If the movie can be categorized by more than one descriptor, it’s a genre-bender. ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ for example can go into Sci-Fi, Comedy, Musical and Horror categories. After all that explanation, I can tell you that I am excited for the release of the horror comedy musical, ‘Stage Fright‘.

Young Nearchus:
Master?
Aristotle:
Yes, out with it, out with it.
Young Nearchus:
Why are the Persians so cruel?
Aristotle:
That is not the subject for today Nearchus. But it is true, the Oriental races are known for their barbarity and slavish devotion to their senses. Excess in all things is the undoing of men. That is why we Greeks are superior, we practice control of our senses. Moderation.

Aristotle:
We hope.
