Lionsgate releases fan favorite, ‘Dredd‘ on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack June 6. The film stars Karl Urban (‘Star Trek Beyond‘), Olivia Thirlby (‘Juno‘), and Lena Headey (‘Game of Thrones‘). Director Pete Travis (‘Vantage Point‘) took a script from Alex Garland (‘Ex Machina‘) and rebooted the story which began as a classic comic book series in 1977. Sylvester Stallone had a run at playing the title role in 1995 and Urban has given us his own rendition of the character in this film.

Watch the New ‘Judge Dredd’ Trailer!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 21st, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

We have the new trailer for ‘Dredd’ and it looks prettay prettay prettay good.  “In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO.”  Thanks to G4’s Attack of the Show, the new ‘Dredd’ trailer just adds to the hype on how cool this movie is going to be.  ENjoy.

Get Your First Look at the New Judge Dredd!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 8th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here…

As you have known for the past few years, there has been a Judge Dredd film in the works.  Only over the past several months have things really taken shape.  Karl Urban will play Dredd and supposedly is fully committed to the character and is loving every minute of it.  Let it also be known that this Judge Dredd film is going to be a hardcore ‘R’ film and is written by Alex Garland.  Garland wrote a little film you might like called ’28 Days Later’.

Ten Great Lesser-Known Films Starring Big Name Actors!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 7th, 2015

Paul N., Here…

Green_street_hooligans

You might find yourself reading the following list, thinking “Hey! I’ve seen all these movies! How dare you claim them to be ‘lesser-known’!” My response to you, should you say such a thing, is “congratulations.” You see, just because you are a film nut like me, doesn’t mean that the rest of the populace is. The following is a list of ten good films with big-named actors that somehow slipped under the general radar. I’m not saying they are completely unknown, but based upon ticket sales, it certainly seems like they slipped the notice of the general public. These are all solid films that, should you enjoy these actors, you definitely want to check them out (the films, not the actors – although to each their own, I guess).

Film Review: ‘Ex Machina’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 17th, 2015

Fernando M., Here…

ex-machina-movie

It’s very rare that we get to say that a directorial debut is nothing short of a rousing success. Ex Machina is one of the finest films I have seen in YEARS!  Written and directed by veteran screenwriter Alex Garland, the brilliant writing mind behind 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and the Dredd reboot; he has outdone himself in every way by taking the director’s chair on his new film.

Top Ten List of Technology from Films We Need Now!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 8th, 2014

Paul N., Here…

hal_9000_interface_website_3

Sometimes, when we watch movies (even bad ones), we look at the technology used and think to ourselves “man, I really need that in my life”. The following is a list of the ten most “give it to me now” technological advances from cinema. This does not mean that the following movies are good, but that the technology used in them is highly desirable. To avoid the list becoming too narrow in focus (like weapons only), or convoluted by tech from one franchise (like Star Trek), the following list has a range of tech from weapons to medical gadgets, each from a completely different movie or franchise.

Jana B. here,

 BEN-MCKENZIE

For a serious Batman fan, like me, there can never be too many origin stories. If you’ve read the comics, watched the movies, the early tv series and basically scoured the internet for more information about the wounded and caped hero, you’re extremely excited about the upcoming ‘Gotham‘ TV series, and it’s series order. I know I’m not alone here in my excitement.

Hi, Bryan Here….

So I guess because ‘The Expendables’ has done so well, it was only a matter of time before someone thought to make the same film, but with an all female cast.  This leads to the question, who will be in the film?  Who will lead a cast of female badasses?  Well, it looks like we have our first cast member.  Gina Carano, star of ‘Haywire’ will star in this action film according to Variety.

Hi, Bryan Here….

The director of ‘Bronson’ and ‘Drive’ is in talks with DreamWorks to direct ‘Button Man: The Killing Game’ according to Deadline.  ‘Button Man: The Killing Game’ is a graphic novel by John Wagner and Arthur Ranson in which the story revolves around Harry Exton, a hired gun who’s offered a fortune to take part in a game organized by bored millionaires that sets trained killers against one another in a fight to the death.
