Disney is going all retro and dipping back into one of the original theme park attractions that opened when Disneyland did to find Jungle Cruise and make a movie based on the ride. In a little bit of an ironic twist, The Jungle Cruise was vaguely based on a film to begin with – ‘The African Queen‘ with simulating 1930’s adventures from a British explorer’s lodge aboard a tramp steamer. From there, the waterways were open leading you through various tropical locales simulating a riverboat cruise down several major rivers of Asia, Africa and South America.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

sw-logo_featured

Here is some very interesting and shocking news that Deadline is reporting. We all know that J.J. Abrams is directing ‘Star Wars: Episode VII‘, and I was going to assume that he would be making the next episodes as well. I was wrong. It looks like director Rian Johnson is signing the contracts to write and direct Episodes VIII and IX. This means that Abrams will pass the torch after this first film is done to Johnson, who by the way is forty years old. And like all of us, grew up watching Lucas make the original films. This is great news.

Jana B., Here….

rumour-marvel-keen-on-aaron-taylor-johnson-to-play-quicksilver-136719-a-1370846169-470-75

Before, I get into the future project of Aaron Taylor-Johnson, a.k.a. Kick Ass, let me just take a moment to express how absolutely gorgeous this guy looks without the frizzy hair of his first appearance as the normal dude turned vigilante. I kind of slid my eyes past him because I could not see the hottie he had hidden. I just checked out a picture of him and was freaking gobsmacked at the boy looking back at me that will be filling my night time thoughts. Yummy. Now that I’ve stated the obvious but important point of his looks I can get on with his new project.

The Bishop Charlotte Reporting….

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) is almost positive to join the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s new spaghetti Western Django Unchained. He’ll have to work out some scheduling issues, but the man seems pretty determined. If he manages it, he’ll be back alongside Leonardio DiCaprio (as before, I do not need to tell you what else he’s in), Jamie Foxx (Ray), Samuel L. Jackson (oh, please), Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds), Don Johnson (Machete), and Kurt Russell (Escape from New York, back in the day).

Hi Bryan Here….

On Sept. 20, the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT) goes into effect.  HBO will tell the strange-but-true tale of the U.S. military’s ban on gays and lesbians from its implementation, through passionate protests and debates, and finally to its 2011 repeal.  A timely and historical look at the legacy of gays and lesbians in the military, THE STRANGE HISTORY OF DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL illustrates the tumultuous evolution of the controversial policy that fostered hate and intolerance within the military – and undermined the very freedoms American forces defend – by forcing many soldiers to lie and live in secrecy.

Dragged Across Concrete – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 19th, 2019

Dragged Across Concrete is the third film from S. Craig Zahler that focuses on two police detectives (Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn) who are put on suspension and are looking to make some extra money to support their families, even if it means doing something dangerous off the grid. It’s a fantastic film for sure. The 1080p HD transfer, DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio mix, and two excellent bonus features are all worth your time. Highly Recommended!

Film Review: ‘Book Club’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 17th, 2018

Nothing says ‘Ladies’ Night’ quite like clinking glasses and a crisp bottle of Pinot Grigio. As four lifelong friends continue their tradition of gathering to gossip and discuss the latest read, one attempts to spice up their collectively drab lives by introducing a saucy trilogy to the table. ‘Book Club‘ is a playful commentary on having fun no matter your age or stage in life, and although this comedy is predictable and oozing with cheesy brie, it counteracts with uproariously endless humor from a top-notch cast.

Vin Diesel is Remaking Miami Vice!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 2nd, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

I guess since NBC is a fast sinking ship down into the ocean, it has to reboot its own vintage TV shows. This time, it’s with Miami Vice, which was a hit action-crime television series in the 1980s that spawned a huge fandom, music, and fashion. In 2006, director Michael Mann remade Miami Vice on the big screen with Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell. To add insult to injury, Vin Diesel and Chris Morgan are producing this reboot, both of which have been involved in all of the Fast and Furious films.
