Here’s the Trailer for ‘Careful What You Wish For’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 26th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

nick-jonas-in-CAREFUL-WHAT-YOU-WISH-FOR-

Here’s a movie that just does nothing for me whatsoever. It reminds me of that Jennifer Lopez vehicle ‘The Boy Next Door‘ from a year or so ago. We all remember how awful that was, Taco Flavored Kisses and all. This new film ‘Careful What You Wish For‘ stars Nick Jonas (Yes, that Jonas), who plays a guy named Doug who is about to go to college, and is spending his time working at a wealthy vacation resort for the summer.

Film Review: ‘Insidious 3’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 4th, 2015

Fernando M., Here…

insidious-3-teaser

The “Insidious” franchise is a strange one.  The movies have developed a formula that they have successfully recreated now for a third time.  They are basically split into three parts; a) spooky haunting stuff, b) going into “the further” (the ghost realm) to confront the haunters, c) resolution.  The first film was pretty creepy throughout, albeit rarely truly terrifying.  The second film was a bit more action/adventure than it was horror.  This third installment took the same formula, and I dare say it’s the most fun of the trilogy.

FILM REVIEW: ‘THE D TRAIN’!

by Justin Cline on May 7th, 2015

Hi, Justin C., Here…

dtrain

All 80’s comedies are predicated on a lie.

I’m too sick to go to school today.

We found a mouse in this bottle.

Back off, man. I’m a scientist.

The same holds true of the latest Jack Black vehicle, The D Train, but will it take its place amongst these all-time favorites or fade into obscurity by the time you finish reading this review? Read the rest of this entry »

Film Review: ‘Stoker’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 28th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

Stoker-1993581-header

Since 2003, Park Chan-wook has been one of my favorite directors of cinema, as I saw his film ‘Oldboy‘. I was in complete awe of that movie and immediately had to find out what else he had done. Upon some research, I ended up buying ‘Sympathy for Mr. Vengenace‘ and loved that flick. Since then I have tried to see everything he has made including ‘Lady Vengeance‘ and his vampire film, ‘Thirst‘. Now, all of these films have been made in Korea with English subtitles, but Park now has made his first North American film title ‘Stoker‘, and proves the prolific director still has what it takes to be at the top of his trade.

Check Out The Trailer for ‘Stoker’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 26th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Here is the trailer for Park Chan-wook’s ‘Stoker’, starring Nicole Kidman and Dermot Mulroney.  Yes Park Chan-wook sounds familiar to you, because he was the one who directed ‘Oldboy’.  “After India’s father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie, who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother. Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.”  Nicole Kidman looks awesome in this.  This is very different for her.  Enjoy the trailer.  ‘Stoker’ will be released March 1st, 2013.
