Close Encounters of the Third Kind is coming to 4K UHD!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 18th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

I’m so excited that Steven Spielberg’s film catalogue is coming to 4K UHD. On September 19th, his famous alien film Close Encounters of the Third Kind will be released with a new 4K restoration in a 3-Disc edition with all-new bonus features. There is a collectible Limited Edition Giftset that will have illuminated packaging and actually play the 5-tone song that the aliens communicate to Earth. There is a big booklet included too along with all three versions of the film, being the theatrical cut, the Special Edition, and the Director’s Cut.

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 11th, 2016

Liz T., here…

Many movies are cast with celebrities who bring fans into the theater. Arrival boasts a very distinguished cast, including Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. All three give award-worthy performances. However, what makes Director Denis Villeneuve’s film so special is that he makes the story the biggest star of the film.

I’m Prepared for the ‘Arrival’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 17th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

maxresdefault

Well here’s an alien invasion film that seems to be fresh and original -FINALLY! The trailer for ‘Arrival‘ looks excellent on all levels, from the cast (Amy Adams, Forest Whitaker, Jeremy Renner), to the direction of Denis Villeneuve (‘Sicario‘ and ‘Prisoners‘). It all looks amazing. I just hope it is when it releases on November 11th of this year. This is not to be confused and is not a remake of the 1996 Charlie Sheen vehicle ‘The Arrival‘. This is something entirely different.

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 1st, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

Story of Your Life‘ has been in the works since last May, Amy Adams boarded the project early on, as did her co-star Jeremy Renner. The Sci-fi drama is coming from Paramount and another big-name actor is in negotiations as the remainder of the cast is filled in, Forest Whitaker. Directing the piece is ‘Prisoners‘ alum Denis Villeneuve with Eric Heisserer (‘A Nightmare On Elm Street‘) architecting the script.

Hey guys, Jana here,

bladerunner-harrison-ford

The frequent rumors that have been swirling for decades about a will there or won’t there be a sequel to the iconic 1982 sci-fi flick ‘Blade Runner‘ are finally right this time. We’ve also got the word straight from Harrison Ford’s mouth that he’s back and ready to reprise his role as Rick Deckard.

Hello, Jana here,

Amy-Adams

Amy Adams is not an actress you’d expect to see in the lineup for a movie about aliens minus ‘Man of Steel‘, but that’s exactly the case. The ‘American Hustle‘ star is in talks to star in ‘Story of Your Life‘ a film conversion of a short story by Nebula and Hugo and Locus Award winning author Ted Chiang. ‘Prisoners‘ director Denis Villeneuve is slated to direct from a script written by Eric Heisserer, writer of the remakes of ‘The Thing‘ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street‘.

Film Review: ‘Enemy’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 20th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here….

enemy-movie-review-09102013-185137

Director Denis Villeneuve is on a roll here. Denis worked with Jake Gyllenhaal on the hit movie last year called ‘Prisoners‘, which starred Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackman, Paul Dano, and Terrence Howard. But not a lot of people know that Denis and Gyllenhaal filmed a movie right before they started ‘Prisoners‘, but has not been released until now. That film is called ‘Enemy‘, and it completely hypnotized me for the entire 90 minutes.

Film Review: ‘Prisoners’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 20th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here…

jackman-prisoners-jpg_163338

Director Denis Villeneuve has given us one hell of a terrifying and highly suspenseful ride with his first major Hollywood film, ‘Prisoners‘. With one amazing cast, excellent script, and terrifying story, I expect Warner Bros. to make a decent buck off this flick. This is a story that is all too familiar in our lives, where it seems like almost every week, we hear a news story of a child in our neighborhood, town, or city that has gone missing. The reactions and damage this causes their families seems all to real and scary. And with ‘Prisoners‘, the violence and suspense never lets up.

Film Review: ‘Arrival’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 24th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

amyadamsarrival

Not to be confused with ‘The Arrival‘ with a young Charlie Sheen, although both of these films involve visitors from another planet, the simply titled ‘Arrival‘ takes the alien invasion genre into paths that we’ve never traveled down before. Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Enemy, Prisoners, Sicario), instead of giant cities falling to the ground and millions of people disintegrating into thin air by a laser beam, ‘Arrival‘ follows the path of two people who want to find a way to communicate with the new aliens that have seemed to land at twelve different locations on planet Earth. Set in present day, multiple giant alien spacecrafts land on Earth, where the governments around the globe put their best and brightest on the job to try and communicate with the new visitors.
