THE FILM

LEGO sure has the market on DC films for kids. This film as the past direct-to-video films have incorporated almost all of the DC heroes to satisfy all fans for all ages. Packed with some great voice-talent that is recognizable to fans, this 78-minute ‘Justice League‘ story is quite entertaining, despite the chaotic pace and silliness. The full title of this film is ‘LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League – Gotham City Breakout‘ and has just about every DC superhero and villain showing up here, along with some new characters.

If you love superhero soundtracks and themes from your favorite TV shows  and film that have superheroes in them, than this soundtrack is for you. WaterTower Music and DC are releasing the Volume 2 of their ‘Music of DC Comics‘ next month with 29 tracks. John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, and Junkie XL are featured on the soundtrack. Hell, even Mark Hamill is on there too. I can’t wait for this to come out. You can pre-order the CD or MP3 now. I just wish there was a vinyl version of this for those old radio themes. Hopefully soon, they’ll release it on vinyl. Below is the official press release and information with track listing. Get super and get this album.

Fight Club (1999) Edward Norton and Brad Pitt (Screengrab)

The Multi-Media Men are back with the 46th episode that covers all things in the entertainment industry. We had a great adventure this time around and had tons to discuss. Joining me is Adam Conway from the Angelika Film CenterSusan Kamyab from This Chix Flix, and Gadi Elkon from Selig Film News, and Andrew Conway . It was a lot of fun to say the least. We discuss what movie we want to see the porn version of, a custom game of ‘FUCK-MARRY-KILL’ , ‘The IT Crowd‘, Javier Bardem, ‘Breaking Bad‘, Steve Jobs, DC Comics, and a ‘Fight Club‘ Re-Cast, and the Elite 8 of our infamous HORROR MOVIE BRACKET. For our Horror Movie Bracket, we had professor Paul Nimon pair and seed it this time, to which blood was drawn between our podcasters on who should move to the next round. It got crazy. Let us know if you agree or missed anything. And please let us know what you think by going to our FACEBOOK page and TWITTER page, which you should visit to catch up on all the latest information. Hey guys, Jana here,

2235697-suicide_squad_001_01

When it comes to Marvel comic-to-movie VS. DC comic-to-movie transformations, Marvel has a clear leading edge with interlaced storylines and sheer numbers that have been released. It pains me to type that because I am a DC fan. HUGE fan of DC characters, the heroes and their amazing villains. To me, the villains are absolute top notch and beat out anything Marvel can throw out. The colors, the histories, the wicked laughs and plots are perfectly my brand of crazy. Among these vivid characters that leap off the pages are Two-Face, Lex Luthor, Harley Quinn and of course, The Joker.

Beginning January 2011, DC Comics will implement a line-wide pricing adjustment, lowering the prices of all standard length 32-page ongoing comic book titles currently priced at $3.99 to $2.99, it was announced today by DC Comics Co-Publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio.

“Today’s announcement re-affirms DC Comics’ commitment to both our core fans and to comic book store retailers,” said Jim Lee, DC Comics Co-Publisher. “For the long term health of the industry, we are willing to take a financial risk so that readers who love our medium do not abandon the art form.”

“As Co-Publishers, we listened to our fans and to our partners in the retail community who told us that a $3.99 price point for 32 pages was too expensive. Fans were becoming increasingly reluctant to sample new titles and long term fans were beginning to abandon titles and characters that they’d collected for years.” said Dan DiDio, DC Comics Co-Publisher. “We needed a progressive pricing strategy that supports our existing business model and, more importantly, allows this creative industry to thrive for years to come. With the exceptions of oversized comic books, like annuals and specials, we are committed to a $2.99 price point.”

When taking into account mini-series, annuals and specials, more than 80% of DC’s comic books will be priced at $2.99.

As of January, the following titles standard length ongoing titles, previously priced at $3.99 for 32 pages/22 story pages, will be priced at $2.99 with 32 pages/20 story pages:

American Vampire;
Batman: The Dark Knight;
Batman Incorporated;
Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors;
JSA All-Stars.

As of January, the following licensed titles, previously priced at $3.99, will be priced at $2.99:

Gears of War;
God of War;
Kane & Lynch;
Ratchet & Clank.

As of January, the following ongoing titles previously priced at $3.99 for 40 pages/30 story pages including co-features, will no longer include co-features and will be priced at $2.99 for 32 pages/ 20 story pages:

Action Comics;
Adventure Comics;
Batman: Streets of Gotham;
Detective Comics;
Doc Savage;
Justice League of America;
Legion of Super-Heroes;
The Spirit.

In January, five books are $3.99 for 40 pages/30 story pages:

Batman: Europa # 1
First Wave # 6
DCU: Legacies # 9
Weird Worlds # 1
World of Warcraft: Curse of the Worgen

The following oversized anniversary issue will be $4.99 for 48 pages/38 story pages:

Hellblazer # 275
