DC Announces its next movie will be Shazam!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 20th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

The cat is out of the bag. The next big movie in the DC Cinematic Universe will be Shazam!, which is a story about a boy who transforms into the mightiest mortal on Earth. Filming should begin at the start of 2018 and will release the following year. They even have a director now, which is David F. Sandberg – a horror filmmaker. Sandberg made Lights Out and the upcoming Annabelle: Creation, according to THR. That’s pretty much it. Now he’s getting a big comic book franchise. It’s exciting for sure and judging by Lights Out, I’m sure he’s more than capable.

The Pilgrimage Trailer Looks Hardcore!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 13th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

“I’m on a pilgrimage to see a moose!” Well, not so much here, but there’s a new movie coming out on August 11th called Pilgrimage that looks hardcore. From what I can tell from the bloody violent trailer, it looks like a cross between Braveheart, a supernatural horror film, and Scorsese’s recent Silence film, but you know, with more decapitations and blood. Jon Bernthal (Walking Dead) and Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming), along with Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) star in the film, and takes place in Ireland in the year 1209 where a group of monks being a pilgrimage to escort an ancient relic. Things get out of hand, human heads end up on giant sticks, sword fights ensue, and blood is shed. This seems right up my alley.

Instead, we had a very special guest join us from Austin, TX, named Tyler Mager, who is not only a big wrestling fan, but works for FloSports, which is a cool company that brings you the sports you wouldn’t necessarily see on television from around the world.  We discuss Kevin Owens becoming the Universal WWE Champion, Triple H’s return, The Miz taking on Dolph Ziggler, and much much more.  This was such a fun show and we hope you enjoy!

LEGO sure has the market on DC films for kids. This film as the past direct-to-video films have incorporated almost all of the DC heroes to satisfy all fans for all ages. Packed with some great voice-talent that is recognizable to fans, this 78-minute ‘Justice League‘ story is quite entertaining, despite the chaotic pace and silliness. Hey guys, Jana here,

bill_paxton_daniel_radcliffe_split

Most everyone is familiar with the game ‘Grand Theft Auto‘. It encourages the player to immerse themselves into a fantasy, criminal underworld where jacking cars is a necessity and shooting rival gangsters, cops, or prostitutes is fair game. When you have a game that envelops that kind of violence, it naturally draws opposition. That opposing voice comes from parents being concerned about the content their children are absorbing, it comes from politicians pandering to the voters while touting negative values as a direct result of exposure to GTA. Each of those voices has one thing in common, their desire to ban the game.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

mad-men-tca-2015

Podcast #52 is here, which means an official year for this weekly podcast. However, it’s been longer than a year. There have been a fair amount of weeks off, vacations, injury stoppages, two minute warnings, and some what have yous.  Our own Gwen Reyes from FreshFictionTv was finally back in town after covering the TCA (Television Critic’s Association) Conference in Los Angeles for three weeks. She had tons of stories, met tons of filmmakers and actors, and had lots of snacks. Her stories were a lot fun. After the TCA business, we discuss the 2000 film ‘Boondock Saints‘ in a new segment we call “What If”, where we give you some fun trivia about the film and give a scenario of ‘What If’ ‘Boondock Saints’ would have had different actors, a different rating, or a different director. It was a lot of fun.  We had Gadi Elkon from SeligFilmNews , Adam Conway from Angelika Film Center, and Andrew Conway. It was a lot of fun to say the least. And please let us know what you think by going to our FACEBOOK page and TWITTER page, which you should visit to catch up on all the latest information. And don’t forget to visit iTunes and Stitcher to subscribe to our podcast. Enjoy the show and see you next week! Thank you for listening.

Podcast #51 – Golden Globes, Oscars, and ‘Tremors’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 20th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

3632_5

It’s 2015. A new year, and our first Podcast of 2015, which makes this Podcast #51. It’s been an excellent ride so far. For our 51st podcast, we were all sober and bright eyed to discuss Award season, meaning the recent Golden Globe winners and the recently announced Oscar nominations. We dive into each category, discussing snubs, surprises, deserved wins, and much much more. After the awards business, we discuss the 1990 film ‘Tremors‘ in a new segment we call “What If”, where we give you some fun trivia about the film and give a scenario of ‘What If’ ‘Tremors’ would have had different actors, a different rating, or a different director. It was a lot of fun.  We had Susan Kamyab from This Chix Flix , Adam Conway from Angelika Film Center, and Andrew Conway. It was a lot of fun to say the least. And please let us know what you think by going to our FACEBOOK page and TWITTER page, which you should visit to catch up on all the latest information. by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 21st, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

image

I can’t believe we have made it to 50 episodes. It’s been an excellent ride so far. For our 50th podcast, we had the entire crew in the studio, which is rare. Since it’s the end of the year and Christmas is almost here, we wanted to give you all our Best and Worst List for 2014. And we’re not talking about films here. We are talking about music, songs, television episodes, interviews, Blu-rays, and more. So we hope this list entices you to see, hear, or purchase whatever film or album you have been hearing about. And it’s quite interesting that a lot of our individual lists were quite different.  We had Susan Kamyab from This Chix Flix , Adam Conway from Angelika Film Center, Gadi Elkon from Selig Film News, Gwen Reyes from FreshFictionTV, and Andrew Conway. It was a lot of fun to say the least. And please let us know what you think by going to our FACEBOOK page and TWITTER page, which you should visit to catch up on all the latest information. Radcliffe and Caplan Cast In ‘Now You See Me 2’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Nov 4th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

now-you-see-me-gallery1

Now You See Me‘ was was a 2013 film that featured four magicians answering a mysterious summons that sets the stage for their later roles as The Four Horsemen who manage to pull off a real-time robbery during a stage act. This leads to an investigation by FBI and Interpol agents. I was impressed with the movie, it was a new story with a twist, very original.

Hey guys, Jana here,

2235697-suicide_squad_001_01

When it comes to Marvel comic-to-movie VS. DC comic-to-movie transformations, Marvel has a clear leading edge with interlaced storylines and sheer numbers that have been released. It pains me to type that because I am a DC fan. HUGE fan of DC characters, the heroes and their amazing villains. To me, the villains are absolute top notch and beat out anything Marvel can throw out. The colors, the histories, the wicked laughs and plots are perfectly my brand of crazy. Among these vivid characters that leap off the pages are Two-Face, Lex Luthor, Harley Quinn and of course, The Joker.
