The 1971 Clint Eastwood flick, ‘The Beguiled‘ is heading towards a remake by director Sofia Coppola. But who do you replace Clint Eastwood with? Dirty Harry has a unique presence on-screen and he’s not so easy to replace, but it is possible to do, as the Coen’s discovered with 2010’s ‘True Grit‘. Jeff Bridges won’t be the go-to for Eastwood’s role, but Colin Farrell is stepping into Eastwood’s amputee boots.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Variety's Creative Impact Awards and 10 Directors to Watch brunch

The team of director David Yates and author JK Rowling is a charmed companionship to be sure, the duo brought us the last four films in the Harry Potter franchise and are now changing their relationship, just a bit, for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them‘. This time around Rowling is not only author of the source material, but she’s writing the script as well.

Hi, Bryan Here…

Colin Farrell ... In Bruges.

Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz have just signed on to star in Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos’s new film called ‘The Lobster‘. Lanthimos’s big claim to fame was the 2009 Oscar nominated film called ‘Dogtooth‘. Shooting shold begin in late March in Ireland with Ben Whishaw, Léa Seydoux, Olivia Colman, Ariane Labed and Angeliki Papoulia already in the cast.

Hi, Bryan Here….

fright-night-colin-farrell

Colin Farrell is in final talks to join Anthony Hopkins in a new supernatural thriller titled ‘Solace‘, which Afonso Poyart will helm. The project will begin shooting in May and has a whopping four different writers, which has me leery of how good this could be. The writers are Peter Morgan, Ted Griffin, James Vanderbilt, and Sean Bailey, which Bailey is the current president of production over at Disney.

Hi, Bryan Here….

We previously reported that Colin Farrell was in talks to play Lancelot in an upcoming project titled ‘Arthur and Lancelot’.  You can read that story HERE.  Things have fallen through and it looks like Colin Farrell will not be playing that role.  And we hear that scheduling is the reason for his passing on the project according to Deadline.

‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer’ is coming to Blu-ray!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 2nd, 2018

One of my favorite and Top movies of 2017 is coming to Blu-ray on January 23rd. Of course, I’m talking about ‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer‘ from director Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster). The film stars Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, and Barry Keoghan. I have described this movie as a sibling to Stanley Kurbick’s film ‘Eyes Wide Shut‘, because of the glaring similarities. Not only is it similar, but it’s a damn good film that stays with you long after you watch it. There looks to be only one extra here and no 4K UHD release yet, but let’s hope that changes. I can’t wait to watch this again and  relive the awkwardness and suspenseful situations this movie delivers.

The Top 20 Vampire Movies Of All Time!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 20th, 2013

Jana B., Here…

085 - Evil Ed

I love making lists. Grocery lists. Bucket lists. Holiday lists. Favorite movie lists. Favorite VAMPIRE movie lists. I bet that got your attention, didn’t it? This is MY list of the top 20 Vampire movies ever made. Why did I point out that it was MY list? Easy. So you read this knowing it wasn’t an Academy vote that got a movie on this list. No one paid me to promote their movie. However, I’m NOT against this, just to be clear. Why spend time putting movies in a list? Maybe it satisfies some Freudian lack of paternal affection I suffered as a child. But the real answer is, “Why wouldn’t I make a list as awesome as this?”

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Seven Psychopaths’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 8th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

Martin McDonagh’sSeven Psychopaths’ is highly entertaining.  I was a huge fan of McDonagh’s ‘In Bruges’ and have since then been wanting more from him.  It’s been four years since ‘In Bruges’, which was the last thing McDonagh did, and I can safely say that McDonagh’s writing and directing has only gotten better.  McDonagh is the next Tarantino and ’Seven Psychopaths’ is an excellent film.

Bryan Reviews ‘Total Recall’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 3rd, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Some people will say that you can’t compare a remake to the original.  They say, “Let it stand on its own.”  It’s very difficult to do that with a film that garnered a lot of attention 22 years ago and still is a milestone in filmmaking in the science-fiction genre.  And it’s very tough to let a remake stand on its own if it doesn’t stray to far from the original.  There will always be comparisons.  Unfortunately, this 2012 version of ‘Total Recall’ is like a sore inside your mouth that is very painful that would only get better if you would stop tonguing it, but you can’t.  The only redeemable thing about this remake of ‘Total Recall’ are the visual FX.  If you took away that aspect of the film, you might have well been watching static on the screen for two hours.

Hi, Bryan Here….

So here is Colin Farrell in the remake of ‘Total Recall‘ directed by Len Wiseman.  While some of you might be all over this, I’m keeping my distance.  First off, Len Wiseman has yet to impress anyone as a director.  He was responsible for ‘Live Free or Die Hard’ and ‘Underworld: Evolution’.  While I quite enjoy Colin Farrell and think he would do great in the film, this trailer just falls flat and looks just like every piece of shit PG-13 action film of the last couple years.

Hi, Bryan Here….

We have been hearing about this ‘Total Recall’ remake for quite a while now.  Colin Farrell looks great in the role once made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger.  The full trailer should be released this weekend so stay tuned.  In the meantime…ENJOY.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Warner Bros. and David Dobkin’s ‘Arthur & Lancelot’ is once again back on the table to finally be made into a film.  Warner Bros. really wants Colin Farrell to play Lancelot and I hear that Farrell wants the job as well.  No word yet on Arthur, but I expect a big name.  The last time this project was on the table, Gary Oldman was approached to play Merlin, but it didn’t work out.  I imagine now, that things are back in motion, he will be called again for the role.

Hi Bryan Here….

Now let me just say first off that I am a huge fan of the original 1985 film of the same name.  When I initially heard that they were remaking this horror classic, I was enthused yet a little apprehensive.  Then the casting came through and it was cast brilliantly.  Then the film opened and I believe I saw it opening weekend.  And I was pleasantly surprised by the film.  They did a decent job with most things.  However there were a few things I wish they did better.  But this 3D Bluray release from Dreamworks is pretty amazing.  If you are a fan of vampire horror, not the silly love vampire stories, but a fun and gory vampire horror thrill ride.  Then you will definitely need to take a bite out of this one.  (I know, that was too easy.)

‘Seven Psychopaths’ to be Quite the Ensemble

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 18th, 2011

Martin McDonagh’s new film is turning into a veritable powerhouse of acting. Woody Harrelson (Zombieland), Tom Waits (The Book of Eli), and Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) have just been signed to join Colin Farrell (Fright Night), Sam Rockwell (Moon) and Christopher Walken (everything) in Seven Psychopaths, a story of dog-napping, drama, and lack of motivation.
