Apr/2018

Hi, Bryan Here….

The-Wolverine-2013-movie

Here is a Japanese trailer for the upcoming ‘Wolverine‘ film titled ‘The Wolverine‘. It showcases a tiny bit of new footage that we haven’t seen from previous trailers. This looks loads better than the previous ‘Wolverine‘ effort already. James Mangold is directing this sequel, which is not as appetizing as Darren Aronofsky directing, but that is long in the past. Mangold did ‘3:10 to Yuma‘, which was great, so let’s hope for something that spectacular, but Wolvy Berserk style. Snikt!

Jana’s Best of 2017!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 1st, 2018

Hey guys, Jana here,

I know these “Best of 2017” lists should technically be published in 2017, but why would I start 2018 any differently than I lived the majority of my adult life: Procrastinating and underachieving. What can I say? That’s my wheelhouse.

For a year that put a spotlight on some of the shittiest behavior by some of the Hollywood elite, it was actually a good year for TV and movies. I didn’t limit myself in number because as I moved on with the brackets, I felt like I was making ‘Sophie’s Choice‘ on some of these, so they’re all getting in! I’m feeling my inner-Oprah here, You’ve made the list! You made the list! EVERYBODY made the list!! In order to spare myself any arguments, I’m stating up front that my picks for the “Best of 2017” are not edited in regards to scandal or hideous human behavior.

Hey guys, Jana here,

the_revenant__2015__movie_poster_by_nabilstevieg-d8jq7yv

I’ve been waiting for this film to drop for quite some time, while it’s not ready to bow in theaters, we do have a teaser that makes me more than just a little excited for the final product. ‘The Revenant‘ is based on the novel of the same name by Michael Punke about the legendary and true events of Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Hey guys, Jana here,

old_man_logan___inked___turner___egli_by_surftiki_by_confuciusretaliation-d663hul

San Diego Comic-Con is all I’ve been talking about the last week, and with good reason! The epic trailers, the cast surprises, the tidbits of info that have been, previously, safely guarded. This week gives us a fantastic peek into the next year or two of film and gets us stoked for those release dates. One of the most exciting bits of information came from Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman. He gave us three words that sent fans everywhere into a frenzied sort of glee as to what ‘Wolverine 3‘ could entail, myself included, those words were “Old. Man. Logan.” Boom!

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!

Angelic Heel Once Again!

The last Raw before Extreme Rules (which can be seen on the WWE Network, FREE for the month of April to new subscribers) was an intense emotional roller coaster. The Apex Predator stalked the halls RKOing anyone and everyone, the WWE Universe learned who the #1 Contenders to the Tag titles were, and there appeared to be trouble in the Authority family. This hard hitting installment of the longest running episodic television show did not disappoint and kept the hits coming. Did you miss it? Wanna know what happened? Find out now!

Hello, Jana here,

game-of-thrones

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, framers and writers of the award winning series ‘Game of Thrones‘ have set their sites on a new project. Since converting George R.R. Martin’s novel into one of the most popular and award winning series, they have had little time for anything else. The demands of writing and executive producing GoT have left little time for other projects. With the fourth season premiering last Sunday, the pair have set their sites on another novel they are planning to convert to another media. This time, they are looking at a feature film, and the book they will be working from is ‘Dirty White Boys‘ from Stephen Hunter. Hunter also wrote ‘Point of Impact‘, the book that was turned into 2007’s ‘Shooter‘.

BRIDGE – Chapter Sixteen

by Justin Cline on Apr 4th, 2012

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

The possibility existed that Mullet knew nothing of the symbiotic relationship between Bridge and Spade.  He may have had no clue that, without the cat, the man he was facing off against was little more than just that—a man—, and the kick signified only a deep-seated hatred of cats.  Whatever the case, from here on out, Bridge was on his own. Bryan Reviews ‘Gog’ DVD!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 14th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

I love old 50’s sci-fi movies.  I always have and I always will.  There’s just something that brings me back to the 80’s growing up watching old sci-fi movies with my dad that makes everything in life seem better.  ‘Gog’, a 1954 sci-fi film was recently released by MGM on DVD and it was a blast.  I really enjoyed the film for what it was and it brought back a bit of that nostalgic feeling from my younger days.

BRIDGE – Chapter Twelve

by Justin Cline on Mar 7th, 2012

CHAPTER TWELVE

Rook looked dumbfounded, as if this turn of events were completely unexpected.  He lowered the bottle to his side, the remaining fingers on his right hand trapped within.  The two trigger fingers were attempting to swim their way upstream in hopes of a reunion, scrabbling at the glass. BRIDGE – Chapter Eight

CHAPTER EIGHT

“What, no more silent treatment?”  For the last three weeks, the cat hadn’t said so much as a word.  For Bridge, the experience hadn’t been altogether unpleasant.  “I don’t think I’ll know how to act if we’re on speaking terms again.” Read the rest of this entry »

BRIDGE – Chapter Seven

by Justin Cline on Dec 7th, 2011

CHAPTER SEVEN

Black turned to gold, which in turn became red, as if he were staring into a very bright light with his eyes tightly shut.  Bridge recognized the progression, had made his peace with it long ago and now allowed it to happen without interference.  There was no point in fighting it.  It was out of his control. Hi Bryan Here….

I am so delighted to be seeing this on DVD for the first time.  I love watching old cartoons from the 60’s.  And ‘Frankenstein Jr. and the Impossibles’ was so much fun.  There were only two seasons with less than 20 episodes in all, but the rock music/action hero cartoon packed each episode with tons of great fun.  It reminds me of ‘Fraggle Rock’ meets ‘Partridge Family’ in the vein of Hanna-Barbera.  This cartoon series also made for some of the most bizarre animated sequences I might have ever seen.  I witnessed a giraffe running upright on two legs with a gun and jumps into an art easel to disappear.  No, I was not on that acid you gave me last year.  Just loads of Dr. Pepper.

Comic Book Spotlight – 11/13/10

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 13th, 2010

Drew here…

Between teaching science and preparing for a new baby to enter our family soon, this fall season has been incredibly busy for me.  My goal is to write weekly comic reviews, though it’s all I can do to keep up with the books on my pull list each week right now.  So in compromise, I will offer some weekly spotlights until I can get into a different routine.  It’s no secret that I love comic books and there are actually very few that I’ve ever truly despised.  I love every genre of the comic art form, and I’m always open to suggestions.  Here are a couple of books I’ve read this week that you might want to check out:
