Film Review: ‘Endless Love’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 13th, 2014

Fernando M., Here…

endless-love-2013-636-370

I just watched a two hour Abercrombie and Fitch commercial disguised as a romance film.  “Endless Love,” contrary to its title, is actually about fleeting and superficial teenage love.  This movie is built for teens; ready to capitalize on their angst, their desire to piss off daddy, and their raging libidos.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Flight’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 8th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

DVjw4vdEFaC6mm_1_l

Flight‘ is a huge and very warm welcome back for director Robert Zemeckis, who for more than a decade now has been making animated motion capture films including ‘A Christmas Carol‘ and ‘The Polar Express‘.  With ‘Flight‘, he is back where he belongs, with big stars and big set pieces.  I’ve really missed Zemeckis’s work over the last decade in the live action arena.  Zemeckis directed the ‘Back to the Future‘ films and ‘Forest Gump‘ to name a couple.  And now, with ‘Flight‘, Zemeckis has proven that he has not lost his touch in any way as this film provides amazing and heartfelt characters, one of the most thrilling plane crashes ever filmed, and beautiful photography.

Abrams first installment of the Star Trek reboot, we have been caught in a cycle of anticipation and apprehension leading up to Star Trek Into Darkness. Could Abrams possibly pull off a movie as fantastic or would we be left thinking he was spent after the first? Would he continue to remain true to the geekfest of science talk that places Trek above Wars? Would we get tired of the lens flares? Yes, Yes, and no.
