by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 17th, 2018

THE FILM

(Portions of this “film” review are written by Dan Moran)

Sequels should never be this good. Blade Runner 2049 is Blade Runner adjacent. It is packed with so many themes and things to discover on repeat viewings. The connection to the original is blatantly there but this movie pushes so far beyond the original and expands the World.

Dave Bautista Signs Onto ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 4th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

blade-runner

Dave Bautista has made a name for himself in a few galaxies. One of them being the WWE Universe where he kicked ass all over the place, while another one being the film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ where he played Drax. Where ever you know him from, one thing is certain, the man has a palpable presence on-screen. I’d bet this is part of the reason he has been chosen for a high-profile sequel, and I’m not talking about his part in Guardians 2, this time it’s for ‘Blade Runner‘.

The frequent rumors that have been swirling for decades about a will there or won’t there be a sequel to the iconic 1982 sci-fi flick ‘Blade Runner‘ are finally right this time. We’ve also got the word straight from Harrison Ford’s mouth that he’s back and ready to reprise his role as Rick Deckard.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

blade-runner-2-harrison-ford-photo

Alcon Entertainment has put out the offer to Harrison Ford to reprise his role as Rick Deckard from ‘Blade Runner‘, the hit sci-fi film from 1982 by director Ridley Scott. Since Scott released ‘Prometheus‘, which was the prequel to the ‘Alien‘ franchise, and we all saw that it did well enough at the box office to warrant a few sequels, Hollywood wanted to revive his other sci-fi film ‘Blade Runner‘. Now that project is gaining much more steam.

Hi, Bryan Here…

Looks like I will have to purchase ‘Blade Runner’ yet again.  This will mark the 5th time I believe.  I will have owned the VHS, the DVD, The HD-DVD Briefcase, the Blu-ray briefcase, and now this glorious 30th Anniversary Edition.  Whew.  This blu-ray will be released October 30th, 2012.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Hampton Fancher is in final talks to join Ridley Scott in developing the new version of ‘Blade Runner’.  This project is being sold as a sequel and will take place some years after the first film.  Fancher co-wrote the original screenplay which of course is based of the Philip K. Dick novel, ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’

Dan’s 2018 Oscar Picks!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 3rd, 2018

Here are my Oscar Predictions. I haven’t seen many of the shorts or documentaries so I didn’t even bother with those, but I have seen everything else that is nominated for the big categories except Call me by Your Name. Also, I fell asleep during The Post, but so did everyone.

As a hard and fast rule, I refuse to recognize any recent best picture winners until a movie comes along that was better on every single filmmaking level than Mad Max: Fury Road. This year is no different, so congrats to Fury Road.

Ethan Hawke has ’24 Hours To Live’ on Blu-ray!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 12th, 2018

Why did this movie not get a major theatrical release? I have no idea. This movie called ‘24 Hours To Live‘ stars Ethan Hawk and produced by the guys who helped make ‘John Wick‘. I mean, this has gold written all over it. Not sure what bonus features will be available, but there is none listed at the moment. Let’s hope that changes. You can currently see the film On Demand, but the Blu-ray will be available on February 6th.

Dan Moran’s Top 12 Movies of 2017 Plus Extras!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 4th, 2018

I saw 75 movies this year and I still have 3-4 left to finish up over the next few weeks. I haven’t seen The Post, Call Me By Your Name, or Phantom Thread yet. Phantom Thread is the only regret I have but it doesn’t come out until mid-January and I like to finish my list before first week of January ends. A few special awards before my top 12.
