by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 28th, 2010

So the next season of Big Love will start on HBO on January 16th, 2011.  But sadly it will be its final season.  Last season we ended with the family announcing who they really are to the public.  It was a short season, by about three or four episodes.  Hopefully, we will get a full 12-13 episode season for its final season.

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 29th, 2018

Here is the super spectacular 10th episode of the newest podcast under the MULTI-MEDIA MEN banner called ‘My Bloody Podcast‘, where the show is related to all things HORROR! Here on this new show, Preston Barta from Fresh Fiction and the Denton Record Chronicle and myself talk about everything we love about horror movies, tv shows, and horror themed music.  We have a special guest for our 10th episode as well, which is our amazing friend and wizard of all things movies and coolness – James Cole Clay from Fresh Fiction. In our tenth episode, our topics include discussions about the new ‘Predator‘ trailer, along with new trailer for ‘Mandy‘, starring Nic Cage. We also talk about watching ‘JAWS‘ on the water, Jared Leto joining a horror Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, and more. We also give you “Bloody Recommendations” of three horror films, being ‘The Vagrant‘, ‘The Addiction‘, and ‘Haunter‘. Our big topic is of course is ‘My Demon Lover‘, where we discuss the film, it’s production history, the actors, and more. It was so much fun. This episode is guaranteed to thrill you, chill you, and fulfill you.

Film Review: ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 5th, 2018

Going into ‘The Cloverfield Paradox‘, which should be renamed to ‘The Cloverfield Potato‘, I was a huge fan of this movie universe and its mythology. With 2008’s ‘Cloverfield‘, I loved the use of handheld cameras and the found footage aspect to tell this crazy story of a giant creature wreaking havoc on everyone and everything in New York, despite the annoying characters. Some years later, we got a film set in the same universe with ‘10 Cloverfield Lane‘, which had us holed up with John Goodman and couple other great characters where something terrible was happening outside their underground bunker, just as something equally awful was happening underground. JJ Abrams had announced a third film some years ago that would take place in this ‘Cloverfield‘ universe, but went thru many delays and a ton of titles, including ‘The God Particle‘.

Blu-ray Review: The Big Sick!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 27th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

The Film portion is written by Beka Perlstein:

If The Big Sick isn’t on your must see movie list, do yourself a favor and rewrite the list. This film is the real life love story of how actor/comedian Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley) met his girlfriend and (spoiler alert) now wife, Emily Gordon. It’s not another Fault in Our Stars or Me Before You, it’s so much more than a love sick story. Behind the romantic comedy model is a story about a Pakistani immigrant who is struggling with identity, relationships, family, career and religion. To put it simply- he’s just trying to figure out this thing we call life.

Love is eternal. But what happens when love grows dim? Michael (Tracy Letts) and Mary (Debra Winger) have been married for several years. They share a home, a bed, etc., but they barely speak and refuse to look at each other. In fact, they each are having affairs. Can love be restored? The Lovers gets real interesting when Michael and Mary ignite a spark between them. Read the rest of this entry »

Dan M., Here….

fast-and-furious-04252011

I saw The Fast and The Furious when I was 14 or 15. As someone who grew up watching Point Break on VHS and other 80s/90s action movies it was right in my wheel house. I have never been a car guy but I still remember that summer talking with my friends about Honda Civics, Nos, and spoilers that we’d all be getting when we turned 16. The first movie is a step by step remake of Point Break, right down to letting the “bad guy” go at the end with “I owe you a 10 second car” instead of “Vaya Con Dios.” It stared two relatively unknowns in Paul Walker and Vin Diesel who will never be confused with Daniel Day Lewis but were born to play these parts. Ultimately was a fun summer popcorn movie that no one thought they’d hear from again, let alone turn into an almost 4 billion dollar franchise.

Is A Big Bang Theory Spinoff Prequel Series Coming???

by Red Zeppelbon on Nov 8th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

a2b395b0-b099-0132-4551-0ebc4eccb42f

It’s likely your friends fall into one of two categories – those who love ‘The Big Bang Theory‘ and those who hate TBBT. Granted, this show is not quite as polarizing as ‘Two and a Half Men‘, but I know there are some people I can hear rolling their eyes right now thinking of these shows. So this next bit of info will be exciting for some of you and could possibly make others’ eyes roll right out of their heads. Warner Bros. TV and CBS is looking into a prequel series in the works based on Sheldon Cooper before he shows up at Cal Tech in the current chapter of his life.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Popular children's TV series Clifford the Big Red Dog to stream on Netflix Beginning February 14. (PRNewsFoto/Netflix, Inc., Scholastic Inc. )

Rescuing a pet is always the greatest thing you can do because it gives a sweet fur baby a new lease on life and you’re saving them from being destroyed a lot of the time. No, this is not just a friendly PSA, there’s a story here. Universal Pictures has scrapped their planned project with ‘Clifford The Big Red Dog‘ and put him back in the shelter where Paramount Pictures has stepped in and adopted the sweet, red pooch. Told ya, there was more.

Hey guys, Jana here,

paneldiscussion_1011_greenriver

The story of America’s most prolific serial killer will be told by Michael Sheen (‘Kingdom of Heaven‘) in his directorial debut. He will also star as the “Green River Killer” himself, Gary Ridgway. Ridgway had a vicious love/hate relationship with prostitutes and he was convicted of murdering 49 victims throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s but later confessed to at least twice that number and was spared the death penalty by being cooperative with locating victims. The first five victims were found in the Green River leading the media to create the “Green River Killer” moniker.
