‘Shazam!’ – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 3rd, 2019

“Finally! DC has made a fun movie!”

It’s easy to see that the executives at Warner Bros. and DC Comics have been listening to the fans in wanting funnier and more light-hearted superhero films after the super dark and very adult previous films. With ‘Aquaman‘, they literally threw in everything and the kitchen sink into that film to bring a wild, chaotic affair that was silly, yet fun in a “so bad it’s good” kind of way. There is much more of a balance with ‘Shazam!‘ and dare I say it in my most impressive imitation of WWE’s The Rock – “Finally! DC has made a fun movie!” I stand by that statement too as odd choice in director David S. Sandberg (‘Lights Out‘ and ‘Annabelle: Creation‘) took his cues from Tom Hanks‘ 1980s film ‘Big‘ and made a large budget superhero movie out of it, set in the universe of The Justice League. Everyone in the film looks to be having a great time on screen with their respective characters and it transfers to smiles and laughs in its audience.

Jana’s Best of 2017!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 1st, 2018

Hey guys, Jana here,

I know these “Best of 2017” lists should technically be published in 2017, but why would I start 2018 any differently than I lived the majority of my adult life: Procrastinating and underachieving. What can I say? That’s my wheelhouse.

For a year that put a spotlight on some of the shittiest behavior by some of the Hollywood elite, it was actually a good year for TV and movies. I didn’t limit myself in number because as I moved on with the brackets, I felt like I was making ‘Sophie’s Choice‘ on some of these, so they’re all getting in! I’m feeling my inner-Oprah here, You’ve made the list! You made the list! EVERYBODY made the list!! In order to spare myself any arguments, I’m stating up front that my picks for the “Best of 2017” are not edited in regards to scandal or hideous human behavior.

DC Announces its next movie will be Shazam!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 20th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

The cat is out of the bag. The next big movie in the DC Cinematic Universe will be Shazam!, which is a story about a boy who transforms into the mightiest mortal on Earth. Filming should begin at the start of 2018 and will release the following year. They even have a director now, which is David F. Sandberg – a horror filmmaker. Sandberg made Lights Out and the upcoming Annabelle: Creation, according to THR. That’s pretty much it. Now he’s getting a big comic book franchise. It’s exciting for sure and judging by Lights Out, I’m sure he’s more than capable.

If you can’t get enough stories based of the cases of Ed and Lorraine Warren, you’re not alone. New Line Cinema is giving us another film in ‘The Conjuring‘ franchise making this one number three. There’s no official word on what the third film will be about, but one thing we do know is that it will be based on another real-life case from the Warrens and their work as paranormal investigators.

Hey guys, Jana here,

maxresdefault

I don’t know about you, but ‘The Conjuring 2‘ had some serious scares in it, I didn’t have to sit on anyone’s lap through the film, like my daughter did, but it had some serious moments that tend to pop back up in the middle of the night when I’m having trouble sleeping. I’m thrilled to report there is another spinoff coming from the film called ‘The Crooked Man‘.
