Amanda Seyfried set To Star in ‘Ted’ Sequel!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 24th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here….

We knew earlier last year that Seth MacFarlane was going to make a sequel to his hit rated R comedy ‘Ted‘, since it made $550 million dollars on a $50 million dollar budget. But it looks like MacFarlane has cast Amanda Seyfried for the main female role, rather than Mila Kunis this time.

Seyfried to Play Linda Lovelace!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 4th, 2011

Linda Lovelace’s story is infamous. A Florida schoolgirl, fresh-faced and innocent, became a porn star practically overnight when she met a man with a vision…of her naked on film. The script for the film is based on the book “The Complete Linda Lovelace” by Erik Danville. Seyfried (Letters to Juliet) is in talks to play the title role.

Beka’s Film Review: ‘Gringo’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 8th, 2018

Gringo is a really fun film that wasn’t on my radar until I saw Joel Edgerton on a late night show and I’m so glad I did. Fresh off Red Sparrow, I saw him on Colbert and discovered he is hotter than you imagine, because he is Australian and also he has this other film, Gringo, which p.s., his brother Nash Edgerton directed. The cast is brimming with stars that are A listers and people that shine despite their lack of name recognition. Edgerton plays corporate dick, Richard Rusk, who is sleeping with everyone and has a general disregard for everything unless it benefits him. Charlize Theron plays Elaine Markinson, a rough woman “working” her way to the top who knows how to get what she wants. The standout however is David Oyelowo, who plays Harold Soyinka, a middle-management nobody whose life is crumbling at the hands of the two players above.

Film Review: ‘Gringo’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 8th, 2018

Gringo‘ follows a straight-laced business man named Harold (David Oyelowo) who works for a medical marijuana company run by Richard (Joel Edgerton) and Elaine (Charlize Theron), who are planning a secret merger they don’t want Harold to discover. In order for the merger to go through, they must clean up the books at their Mexican facility which has been selling a “weed pill” to a cartel leader to help the company financially. At home, Harold’s wife (Thandie Newton) is cheating on him, further pushing Harold to the edge. For some reason, Amanda Seyfried shows up as the girlfriend of some guitar store employee sent to Mexico so steal some drugs from the same facility Harold is there to see. Eventually Harold ends up stuck in Mexico through a series of kidnappings and ploys, forcing Richard to ask his brother (a former mercenary), played by Sharlto Copley, to rescue Harold from Mexico.

‘Mama Mia: Here We Go Again’ Sequel is Almost Here!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 21st, 2017

It looks like ‘Mama Mia!‘ is getting the sequel treatment with ‘Mama Mia!: Here We Go Again‘ with everyone returning to their roles. It doesn’t look like Meryl Streep with be the main star here this time, but her and Cher will be seen in the movie. The first film was fun enough and the ABBA music still resonates, but I wonder what music group will be picked this time around. I just hope this isn’t a hasty rehash of the first film.

Film Review: ‘The Last Word’!!

by Janet White on Mar 7th, 2017

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

The Last Word - DJ

At the end of her highly accomplished life journey, Harriet Lauler (Shirley MacLaine) searches for something to do in The Last Word.  A wanderer in the land of denial about her clear case of OCD, Harriet makes her hairdresser watch as she cleans up the haircut she just received.  Suddenly, some spilled wine and a newspaper and light dawns on Harriet’s dome…she would orchestrate her obituary.  Anne Sherman (Amanda Seyfried), an obit writer for the local newspaper, is content in mediocrity though she dreams of more.  The wackiness and heartfelt joy that follows is the epitome of a female buddy film. Film Review: ‘Ted 2’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 25th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Who would have thought that Seth MacFarlane’s (creator of ‘Family Guy‘) first feature film about a pot-smoking foul-mouthed teddy bear would have made over $550 million at the box office back in 2012? I certainly didn’t expect it, but it’s the sole reason why we have the sequel to ‘Ted‘, simply titled ‘Ted 2‘. I’ll be honest with you. Macfarlane did a fantastic job with the first film, making an ‘R’ rated comedy with heart and enough laughs that are still memorable today. He even threw in some great cameos and nods to pop culture references, much like ‘Family Guy‘ does.

The New Trailer for ‘Ted 2’ Had Me In Stitches!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 29th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

We’ve been telling you for quite some time now that everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed teddy bear, ‘Ted‘ is coming back to the big screen. Well we have the first trailer for you, and it looks just as raunchy and hilarious as the first film. Mark Wahlberg is back, but I didn’t see Mila Kunis anywhere this time. But, Amanda Seyfried and Morgan Freeman show up. There is an excellent Samuel L. Jackson joke and everyone’s worst nightmare at a sperm donation center. I can’t wait to see this. Enjoy the trailer. ‘Ted 2‘ opens June 26th.

Film Review: ‘A Million Ways To Die In The West’

by Gumbercules9000 on May 29th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

Seth MacFarlane is back with his second directorial effort with ‘A Million Ways To Die In The West‘. His first film, ‘Ted‘, which was a huge box office success, netting in almost $600 million from a budget of only $50 million, pretty much guaranteed that he would get to make any movie he wanted to in the future. MacFarlane is most known for creating and providing many of the voices for the cartoon shows such as ‘Family Guy‘, ‘The Cleveland Show‘, and ‘American Dad‘. All of which are family oriented shows. But with ‘Ted‘, he took it a couple of steps further and made a solid ‘R’ rated movie with tons of laughs and a decent story.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Seth MacFarlane’s new film has a trailer. His first feature film he directed was ‘Ted‘, and it scored big theatrically and on home-video. It was only a matter of time before the ‘Family Guy‘ creator and voice made his 2nd feature live-action film. ‘A Million Ways To Die in The West‘ synopsis is: Seth MacFarlane plays a hapless farmhand in the Old West who loses his girl (Amanda Seyfried) when he ducks out of a fight, only to be taught to shoot by the wife (Charlize Theron) of a gunfighter (Liam Neeson) in this Media Rights Capitol western comedy. This looks pretty funny, plus it has Neil Patrick Harris in it. The film is set to release May 30th. Enjoy the trailer.

Film Review: ‘Lovelace’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 12th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here…

lovelace d25 _161.tif

Here is the first of two films that is based on the porn phenomenon Linda Lovelace (Amanda Seyfried), who rose to superstardom in the early 70s with the film ‘Deep Throat‘. This biopic film of Linda Boreman could’ve been a disaster, but directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman made an engaging and entertaining look at Boreman’s life, even if at times her situations are difficult to watch. The acting is spot on for everyone in this film with a killer retro soundtrack. With a surprising wider release than I thought this little film would have, I expect a decent box office draw.
