Bryan Gets Stuck for 127 Hours!!! (127 Hours Review)

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 29th, 2010

Hi Bryan Here…

This film is perfect on an emotional and a sensory level.  You literally go through every emotion and sense through out a 90 minute film and come out on the other side feeling complete exhilaration.  If you can handle watching a guy cut off his own arm in order to survive death, then you are going to LOVE this movie.

Danny Boyle’s New Film “127 Hours”

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 16th, 2010

Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, Sunshine, Millions) is hard at work in post on his new movie “127 Hours”. I have been hearing quite a bit about this movie.

“127 HOURS is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston’s (James Franco) remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued. Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers (Clémence Poésy), family, and the two hikers (Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara) he met before his accident. Will they be the last two people he ever had the chance to meet?”

I’ve heard that at a few of the film festival screenings, people have passed out due to the graphic nature of one amputation scene. Danny Boyle has continued to give us one golden movie after another. He has tackled quite a bit of different genres from re-defining the Zombie genre to a psychological sci-fi thriller, to the academy award winning picture comedy/drama Slumdog Millionaire. Now he is going into the realm of factual based events with this Ralston Guy.

I cannot wait to see this movie. The movie comes out November 5th.

Check the trailer below.

Jana B., Here…

Director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire), is not in danger of being out of work any time soon. After releasing Trance in March of this year, the versatile director is turning his attention to the small screen. In the US, he’s partnering with his Slumdog Millionaire writer and producer Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours and the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and Christian Colson (127 Hours and Trance) for a 10 part WWII miniseries.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Director, Danny Boyle will be heading up the 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in London.  Boyle directed ’28 Days Later’, Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Sunshine’, and ‘127 Hours’, and ‘Trainspotting’ to name a few.  Boyle plans to transform the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics into a surreal vista of a “green and pleasant land” at the newly built host stadium in Eastern London according to THR.

Eckhart to be Hot Again as ‘Beach Boys’ Drummer!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 17th, 2011

The Bishop Charlotte Reporting….

Excuse my language up there, but he is. Moving on.

Aaron Eckhart is set to play Dennis Wilson in The Drummer, a biopic based on the last six years of Wilson’s life. The man’s best music was written during this period; his solo masterpiece “Pacific Ocean Blue” came out shortly before his tragic and sudden death in 1983. The only Beach Boy who actually surfed, Wilson drowned in the Marina Del Rey. If it’s shown in the movie, it will probably gain similar reviews as 127 Hours – harrowing, violent images at the end while the rest of the movie is haunting and beautiful.

Bryan Reviews ‘Trainspotting’!!! (A Blu-Ray Review)

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 12th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

This is such a delight to have on blu-ray.  Danny Boyle’s first film sets the bar pretty high.  Of course Boyle would go on to direct ‘127 Hours’, ’28 Days Later’, and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.  But Trainspotting was an instant cult classic and starred a wide variety of then at the time unknown stars, but today are A-list actors.  I have still not seen a film that has shown me the true distinction of agony and satisfaction as perfectly as this film did.  Seeing the constant struggle with drug addiction and the highs and lows of going through a drug addiction was quite entertaining and so tragic.  This dark comedy will take you through an insane psychadellic journey of devastation, pleasure, and the ultimate high.  That is ‘Trainspotting’ for you.

Hi Bryan Here….

March is here which means spring is on the horizon.  This also means tons of Oscar nominated and Oscar winning films will be released on home video very soon.  Starting today.  In fact, a few have already been released, but, I’m thinking there will be re-issues with more extras and the titles that read “Oscar Winning” on the cover.  I’m very excited about this week in releases.  Tons of great stuff.

As usual, you will get some info about the disc and the extras that come with the movie as well as a personal opinion about the movie and a link to purchase the film over at AMAZON where you can save quite a bit of money, and it will give a small percentage kick back to this site so we can continue bringing you excellent stories and sales.

Enjoy and Here We Go!!

Film Review #2: ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2017)!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 14th, 2017

Dan M., here….

landscape-1478512906-beauty-and-the-beast-movie

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (1991) is in the top 2 Disney animated movies of all-time. I’ll only allow The Lion King, which has a live action version due in 2019 or 2020, to be ranked ahead of it. This isn’t a debate. These are facts. Beauty and the Beast (animated) is a masterpiece from songs to characters, which is why I loved that this new live-action movie stayed so true to the animated version. It was an extremely enjoyable two hours with some really great moments and I look forward to seeing it again.

Film Review: ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 18th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

share_1200x627

I can’t believe it’s finally here. Ten years since the last ‘Star Wars‘ movie, which was ‘Episode III‘ by George Lucas. In the decade that followed, we all thought we would never see another ‘Star Wars‘ feature film again, since Lucas himself destroyed and ruined the prequel trilogy and continued to alter the original trilogy to dried up mess of movies that are almost unrecognizable. Fortunately for every ‘Star Wars‘ fan in the world, he sold his production company that included the rights to ‘Star Wars‘ to Disney for a modest amount of $4 billion.
