Hi everyone, Bryan here….

The cat is out of the bag. The next big movie in the DC Cinematic Universe will be Shazam!, which is a story about a boy who transforms into the mightiest mortal on Earth. Filming should begin at the start of 2018 and will release the following year. They even have a director now, which is David F. Sandberg – a horror filmmaker. Sandberg made Lights Out and the upcoming Annabelle: Creation, according to THR. That’s pretty much it. Now he’s getting a big comic book franchise. It’s exciting for sure and judging by Lights Out, I’m sure he’s more than capable.

Now, we all know that Dwayne Johnson is slated to play the villain to Shazam! named Black Adam, but there is no word yet on if he’ll be in the Shazam! film. There is however a Black Adam spinoff movie being developed for The Rock solely – of course. Warner Bros. must be super happy from the success of Wonder Woman right now and is quickly slating more DC films to be released in the coming years. The Flash film was delayed with Joss Whedon doing re-shoots on Justice League right now, which Whedon won’t be available to make Batgirl until after that.

Then there is the sequel to Wonder Woman and the sequel to Suicide Squad being made, both of which are in the early development stages, which leaves Shazam! the first film on the docket after Justice League releases later this year. One cool note on Sandberg – – he started making movies on his iPhone with the short film of Lights Out. That was only a couple of years ago. Now he is in charge of a $100 million DC Comics’ property on film. That’s badass!
