Hey guys, Jana here,

X-Men_Legacy_Vol_2_5

FX Networks has more Marvel and X-Men news, this time it’s an 8-episode order to ‘Legion‘ starring Dan Stevens. Stevens is one of the most heart-stopping reasons to love ‘Downton Abbey‘ and he’s playing the titular male role in Disney’s upcoming ‘Beauty and the Beast‘. ‘Legion‘ is the first cable hosted series for Marvel, ABC hosts ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ and Netflix is home to four other comic-book shows.

Hey guys, Jana here,

5 glow gorgeous ladies of wrestling

Jenji Kohan is a TV series creator responsible for ‘Orange is the New Black‘ and ‘Weeds‘, the woman is a force of nature and the equivalent of a royal flush for a network to have in their stable. She has turned her attention from ladies in prison for the moment, to ladies wrestling with a project titled ‘GLOW‘. If that sounds familiar, you’re right because the series is inspired by the TV series ‘GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling‘ from the 1980’s.

Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood have teamed up in the heist flick ‘The Trust‘. It’s set in a location favorite of Cage’s, Las Vegas. Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Here’s a movie that just does nothing for me whatsoever. It reminds me of that Jennifer Lopez vehicle ‘The Boy Next Door‘ from a year or so ago. We all remember how awful that was, Taco Flavored Kisses and all. This new film ‘Careful What You Wish For‘ stars Nick Jonas (Yes, that Jonas), who plays a guy named Doug who is about to go to college, and is spending his time working at a wealthy vacation resort for the summer.

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

School’s out, the days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer and it’s about the time of year for parents to begin shipping their kids off to various summer camps. Some focus on fun, some are faith-based, others make the focal point anything from acting to sports, I even think there’s a chess camp. Talk about some trouble-makers! Woo-hoo and shit.  No matter where your interests lie, there’s a camp for that. Some of the greatest camps I’ve wanted to attend are all fictional and brought to us by both big and small screens. I’m going to give you a run down of what I think the top 10 summer camps from films are, then you can argue with me if you have better suggestions.

No, I don’t believe that the manufacturer producing knock-offs is unaware of their similar product to one that cost 8 times as much as theirs, they’re shady AF and purposely going after a devoted customer base because it’s easier to steal customers than to cultivate your own. Film Review: ‘Neighbors 2’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 18th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

0002-neighbors-2-ew_0

It’s rare when a comedy sequel works on all levels. With sequels, you’d hope the original cast comes back and there is a good balance of returning and new jokes and plot devices to make it stand on its own without doing the same recycled material as the original. With the case of ‘Neighbors‘, you had a pretty great cast with Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Zac Efron, Dave Franco, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, in an ‘R’ rated comedy about a couple with a newborn baby, trying to raise a family next to a frat house. It was a solid premise with a lot of funny moments. The small budget film of only $18 million went on to make over $270 million at the box office.

The brothers are the gorgeous combination of Chris Pine and Ben Foster, a divorced dad and an ex-con. The flick will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival then will be available August 19 in theaters.

Get on the Stick with ‘The Flash’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 12th, 2016

Wade D., Here…

Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 8.23.01 AM

Hey everyone! So it seems like my first iteration wasn’t a total failure, because I got another chance to Get on the Stick. Just in case you missed Episode 1, here we are trying to apprise you to some sort of greatness that Boomstick just hasn’t touched on enough. So the goal here is to enlighten, entertain, and perhaps titillate you in a way that hasn’t been done quite yet. If you feel like you may be getting over titillated… turn off that Misty Mundae flick (with this crowd I’m guessing it’s either SpiderBabe or Lord of the G-Strings) and start rambling off batting orders from 1970’s MLB teams. We’ll do our best to keep spoilers at a minimum, so relax. The term “Get on the Stick” is all about getting to work, so no more blather… Let’s get to it!

There is a Paris Hilton Documentary in the Works!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 11th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

paris_hilton

It looks like Paris Hilton has authorized and allowed a documentary team to make a documentary about her life. The film will be directed by Don Argott and Sheena Joyce and filming will begin this summer in Ibiza of all places. Joyce and Argott come as a pair basically, since they’ve worked on the same documentaries before this, including ‘Rock School‘ and ‘The Art of the Steal‘. Those are actually pretty good documentaries.

Film Review: ‘X-MEN: APOCALYPSE’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 9th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

cdn.indiewire.psdops

And we are back with yet another ‘X-MEN‘ movie, marking this the 9th film in the franchise, that is if you count the ‘Wolverine’ movies and what not. If you’re just counting purely ‘X-MEN‘ films, than this is number six with it being number 4 from director Bryan Singer, who started this whole comic book movie crazy back sixteen years ago with the first ‘X-Men‘ film. From there, we have seen the Marvel and DC Universe take off into a multi-billion dollar industry. It’s quite mind boggling, and this new film ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ seems to take everything we’ve seen since Matthew Vaughn’s ‘First Class’ and sculpt it into this one film.

“I get no pleasure out of the prospect or the preparation. I’m covered in hives, I’ve showered four times, and for what? Some guy who doesn’t even have the brains to buy a Zagat so we don’t wind up in a restaurant that’s really just a front for a cocaine laundering ring?” The GEEK DEAL OF THE DAY is the Complete Series DVD set of ‘Gilmore Girls‘. This DVD set comes with a ton of bonus features, which you can see below. Unfortunately, this series is not on Blu-ray, and there are no plans for it to be released in high definition yet. Sure, the series is currently on Netflix, but it doesn’t have the xtras, and of course, at some point, it will leave Netflix. Point is, this set is so cheap right now, that it comes out to around $6.00 per season. You can’t beat that for one of the BEST shows on television. I’m a huge fan of the show and have watched it through several times. The characters are just so likable and the dialogue and writing are incredible. Take advantage of this AWESOME DVD set, because it won’t last long.

*** I know the price says $62.99 on here, but if you click it…you’ll see that it is actually $43.99. ***

Slender Man Is Heading To The Big Screen!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on May 4th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

Slender Man is one of those bits of lore I just never really got into. I can see the draw of it and I can see the wealth of material that is there to mine for a movie, so it makes sense that a movie is in the works about this fabled and completely fabricated creature. In 2009 an online forum titled ‘Something Awful‘ challenged their members to make everyday photographs appear paranormal. Eric Knudsen broke the stale and trite entries with  two photos of children with an unnaturally tall, thin, featureless faced man standing behind them – and Slender Man was born. Film Review: ‘Captain America: Civil War’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 3rd, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

The ‘Civil War‘ story line in the Marvel Universe is one of the better story lines in recent memory in all of Marvel. It pitted your favorite superheroes against each other and caused some real havoc, before taking on a much bigger enemy. The day has finally come when that comic book miniseries is put up on the big screen in a very large way with ‘Captain America: Civil War‘. This is the third ‘Captain America‘ movie, and a lot of you will wonder why this isn’t just an ‘Avengers 3’ film since most of the ‘Avengers’ show up here throughout the movie. You might be right, but in a big way, this is really Captain America’s movie that shows us just how Steve Rogers ticks.

I don’t even know where to begin in describing the strange that is Booger Red. On paper, this true crime drama is right up my alley. Native Texan director, Berndt Mader, takes on the incredibly disturbing story of the Mineola swingers club that allegedly preyed on teens and children, coaxing them into a child sex ring. It goes further to investigate the seven people who were arrested, charged, indicted, and convicted for these crimes. It focuses on the one man still in prison, Dennis Pittman.
