Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Groovy news, everyone. Basically a week before the first episode will air, ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead‘ has already been picked up for a second season by Starz. This news comes on the same day that everyone that worked on ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead‘ will be hitting the red carpet in Hollywood for their premiere. Needless to say, this is a damn fine day indeed.

Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik said, “One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two-decade-long appetite for more Ash. The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story, have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with Season 1.” He went on to say that season 2 will most likely air around the same time in 2016.

Season one will have ten episodes for sure, and we hear that season two will have at least ten more episodes with a possibility of more. Bruce Campbell will be back as Ash and Lucy Lawless will be back as Ruby Knowby. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will also be back on the second season as producers and possibly writers and directors.

This kind of thing is almost unheard of. It’s rare for a television show to get a following season order before the prior seasons airs. And it’s super rare that a series is given a second season before the pilot episode even airs for the first time.

Like I said in my review of the pilot episode for ‘Ash vs. Army of Darkness‘, this is the most fun I’ve had watching television in a long time. Be sure you turn into Starz on Halloween to see for yourself.

GROOVY!
