“And shepherds we shall be…”  If you could finish that verse, I know you’re like me. Huge ‘Boondock Saints‘ fans. I also know that you will appreciate the announcement that dropped today from the one and only Troy Duffy. He has been back and forth about the idea of a third film in the series, but things look like they are ready to move forward into working on a script, at least.

This is the best news I’ve heard in a really long time! I love, love, love the MacManus Brothers and their brand of vigilante justice. ‘The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day‘ ended with the brothers recovering in a prison cell, along with Romeo. We learned Smecker was still alive and wanted to put the boys back to work. I can’t even imagine the scale this film will be on. I can’t imagine them away from Boston, but if Troy Duffy is writing it, I know I’ll be able to love it. I’m hating the fact that their dad won’t be in it and neither will Detective Greenly unless we get another dream sequence involving Rocco and the cat again.

No dates on when to expect shooting or casting information, but as always, you will be the first to know! This is one thing that I go totally fan-girl on. I keep trying to find a comic-con near here when the Bonndock Saints group will be there so I can meet them. Until that happens, I’ve got my movies.

Oh yeah, It seems I may have made up some or all of this story…ok, all of it…for April Fools Day!
