Hello Jana here,

Max Landis

Script writer Max Landis is a common denominator with several projects that are either in production or pre-production. In the wake of 2012’s ‘Chronicle‘, we find Landis’ name attached to at least 5 projects that are slated for release in 2015. the highly anticipated ‘Frankenstein‘ which will star James McAvoy as the titular Dr. Frankenstein and in a strange casting turn, Daniel Radcliffe is set to star as Igor. Another screenplay Landis has written is making some noise with a new casting choice.

Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg

American Ultra‘ is an upcoming action comedy that already has Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart locked into leading roles. Uma Thurman is the latest to join the film as Diane Lasseter. ‘American Ultra‘ tells the story of an unmotivated stoner named Mike  (Eisenberg) who lives with his girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart) in a small, sleepy town. One night their lives take an unexpected turn when Mike’s past comes back to haunt him. He becomes the target of a government operation set to wipe him out. Thurman will play a government worker who spearheaded a secret program to create sleeper warriors, and now that someone wants to kill her creation, she will fight back like a momma bear protecting her cub.

Set to begin production in April, Nima Nourizadeh director of 2012’s ‘Project X‘ is on tap to direct the film. There is some major star power attached to a film for a fairly new director to work with. Nourizadeh is in prime position to make himself a big name in director circles if this goes well.

Thurman hits the big screen next in Lars Von Trier’sNymphomaniac I & II‘ coming this month. Stewart has several projects working including ‘Clouds of Sils Maria‘, ‘Still Alice‘ and ‘Anesthesia‘.  Eisenberg got comic book fans talking earlier this year when it was announced he would play Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman-Superman project that is still untitled. I know I was one of the fans that was not happy about the decision. After hearing Bryan Cranston’s name as a possible Luthor, he’s all I wanted, now I am going to have to watch with an unbiased eye and see how Eisenberg’s performance rates for me. Also from Eisenberg are ‘Rio 2‘ and James Ponsoldt’sThe End of the Tour‘.
