Actor Michael K. Williams, otherwise known as Chalky White from ‘Boardwalk Empire‘ and Omar from ‘The Wire‘, which were both on HBO, has just landed a feature role for a movie called ‘Captive‘. Of course he will start filming while he is on hiatus from his tv show. ‘Captive‘ already stars David Oyelowo, Kate Mara, Leonor Varela and Mimi Rogers. The script was penned by Brian Bird and Reinhard Denke, and is being directed by Jerry Jameson.

The movie is a fictionalized telling of a true story and follows Ashley Smith, a single mom who is a drug addict and trying to gain custody of her daughter. However, she is kidnapped and taken hostage by an escaped murderer. Her only hope is her faith and God, her daughter, and a book, to which she reads to her captor during her kidnapping, which might lead to a change of hearts on both sides.

Williams will play the lead detective in the film and shooting starts this week in North Carolina. This sounds great and Williams is gonna be awesome in this role. Looking forward to this.
