Hi, Bryan Here….

Universal Pictures is ready to make ‘Kick-Ass’ 2 and already has a director.  That director is Jeff Wadlow, who also has written a script for the sequel.  With the success of the Avengers, Universal wants to waste no time and get this project started by August.  Talks are already underway for original cast members; Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.  They will all have to sign new contracts and deals according to Deadline.

The first ‘Kick-Ass’ movie was made for $28 million dollars and scored over $100 million at the box office.  The original director was Matthew Vaughn, and although he want to direct it, he does not have time in his schedule in the near future to work on it.  He is currently working on his own follow-up to the X-Men: First Class film.  But Vaughn assured he’s fully supportive and will help out in anyway he can.  Wadlow is best known for his film ‘Cry Wolf’.

I hope they stick to the story for this sequel which is that Kick-Ass inspires tons of heroes to join in crime fighting, while Red Mist inspires tons of villains to join him in creating crime and destruction.  This will all lead up to a huge and epic showdown.
