Sean ‘Spicoli’ Penn is currently in final negotiations to play a fairly big role in Ben Stiller’s remake of ‘ The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty’ for 20th Century Fox.  Ben Stiller will be starring in the film as well as directing.  Penn is talking with the studio about playing the role of a photographer.   Stiller plays the timid magazine photo manager who goes off on an escapade to find a missing negative. Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott, Shirley MacLaine and Patton Oswalt also star.

I’m a huge fan of Stiller’s directorial work.  I lvoed his vision with ‘Cable Guy’ and ‘Zoolander’.  This looks to have a wonderful cast and the addition of Sean Penn will be brilliant.  Penn has been in tons of films recently, with most recent being ‘The Gangster Squad’ directed by ‘Zombieland’s’ Ruben Fleischer according to Deadline.
