Hi Bryan Here….

Well the 2nd part of Season 2 of ‘The Walking Dead’ is upon us.  Particularly February 12th on AMC.  The episode is called “Nebraska” and it looks like the first episode will pick up right where the last one left off.  I really enjoyed the first part of the 2nd season, but I really think that this 2nd part will be the meat and potatoes of the 2nd season.  Looking forward to this.

Hi Bryan Here….

One of our favorite shows here at Boomstick to write about is ‘Arrested Development’.  So over the past year or so we have heard so many stories on a new season or a feature film.  Then a little while back, Netflix made a deal to air a completely new season of ’Arrested Development’.  Not much has been said or really known about the series.   Still to this day, there is not much known about it, but co-exec producer Dean Lorey let a few details slip out today.  All good news.

PlayStation has confirmed the mulitplayer demo for ‘Twisted Metal’ hitting PSN next week, on January 31st.   You will have to use the PSN Pass to play.  I used to play Twisted Metal quite a bit back in the 90′s.  I’m glad to see it coming back again.  Weird timing though.  I would of thought that they would have waited until the PS4′s release.  I know that is at least a year off, but that would be a huge launch title.

Wiki Leaks founder Julian Assange has a gust spot on ‘The Simpsons’ coming up on February 19th.  This  also marks ‘The Simpsons’ 500th episode.  In the episode,  Marge and Homer go off the grid and find themselves living next door to Assange. “He invites them over for a home movie and it’s an Afghan wedding being bombed,” says producer Al Jean. “There’s nothing we did that has anything to do with the legal situation that he’s in,” Jean says. “We wanted to make sure it was satirical, and he was willing to do that.”

More good news for PBS’s ‘Downton Abbey’.  Not only did ’Downton Abbey’ win best miniseries at the Golden Globes this year, but now famed actress Shirley MacLaine will join the cast in the third season and will play American-born mother of Elizabeth McGovern’s character Lady Grantham.  “My late grandfather directed Shirley MacLaine in Gambit in 1966,” said Downton Abbey executive producer Gareth Neame, “so it is a delight for me that she will be joining us on Downton Abbey.”

That’s right.  Good news for everyone who likes good music.  Jack White of ‘The White Stripes’, ‘Dead Weather’, and ‘The Raconteurs’ will be releasing his first solo album ever come April 24th.  The album is entitled ‘Blunderbuss’.  Jack White has been involved with tons of artists over the past few years, and we have all been wondering when he would releasing something solo.  And to add even more good news to this story, the single, “Love Interruption,” from the record will be released today and expected to make it available for sale Monday night on iTunes.

First off, this sounds boring.  I can’t imagine this making it past the pilot episode, but people are insane.  The Game Show Network as ordered a pilot episode of ‘The American Bible Challenge’, an original one-hour game show which tests contestants on their biblical knowledge. It is executive produced by ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ executive producer Michael Davies.

Below are the winners of the SAG awards from last night.  This might be an early indication for who has a good chance of winning at the Oscars this year.  Looks like  ’The Help’ cleaned up here.  Will they at the Oscars? ‘HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’ cleaned up too.  Much kudos to all the winners and noms.

Hi Bryan Here….

Well, last week, we posted a strange video that popped up that was a 10 second commercial that featured Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller once again.  And the end title was the date for the Super Bowl.  Soon after we posted the video, we got word that it was a promo spot for the new Honda CR-V.  The promo will be featured on Super Bowl Sunday.  While this is not the coolest news ever, it certainly is a great move in the marketing department for Honda.  I wonder if any other promo spots will feature other films?  Can you imagine a Breakfast Club commercial?
