There was a opening, and Academy Award-winner Brian Grazer has stepped into the hole. He will be joining Don Mischer to produce the 84th annual Academy Awards, a first-time gig for him.

“Brian Grazer is a renowned filmmaker who over the past 25 years has produced a diverse and extraordinary body of work,” says Tom Sherak, Academy President, ““He will certainly bring his tremendous talent, creativity and relationships to the Oscars®.”

In his film career, Grazer has earned four Academy Award nominations: one for writing Splash, two for producing Apollo 13 and Frost/Nixon as Best Pictures, and as producer won Best Picture in 2001 for A Beautiful Mind. He’s been involved in over a hundred movies and a few TV shows, so he definitely knows what he’s doing.

The Oscars will air on Sunday, February 26th, televised by ABC. They will take place in the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and Highland Center.
