Andy Garcia (New York, I Love You) and Forest Whitaker (Repo Men) have just been confirmed to join the cast of The Truth, an action thriller from Rollercoaster Entertainment and Vortex Words + Pictures. They will be joining Deborah Kara Unger (Sophie), Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), and Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy).

The flick will be directed by Damian Lee (No Exit), with Gary Howsam and Bill Marks producing. Garcia and Coates, along with Jeff Sackman, are executive producing. Shooting begins in the next few days.

While this is not a particularly big-name cast (with the exception of Garcia and Longoria), all are veterans and talented to boot. Garcia’s character, an ex-CIA agent who is now a political talk show host, is the only one we currently know anything about. He is hired by a corporate whistleblower to expose the coverup of a massacre. More as this develops.
