The drama is called American Housewife, and Lifetime’s been trying to get it greenlighted. Now that it’s done, the casting has begun. Griffith (Lolita) will star as the title character as well as executive produce. Banderas (Puss in Boots), who is her husband, will produce with her.

David Slade (Eclipse) is in talks to direct the pilot, which was written by Erik Jendreson (Band of Brothers) and executive produced by him. Jendreson and Banderas came up with the idea for the show together in the first place.

Griffith will play a housewife (derp) with two children. She wrestles with an inner voice as one child leaves for college and the other remains at home. Being a drama, I have no doubt that many things will happen with love lives and wrong friendships, but plot details are not yet out for the public.
