Hi Bryan Here….

Rapper and actor Snoop Dogg is set to star in a biopic on the life of Fillmore Slim.  Slim’s real name is Clarence Sims and was a pretty good blues singer and guitarist.  Sims was also a famous pimp in San Francisco known as “The West Coast Godfather of the Game” and “The Pope of Pimping.”

Shelly Liebowitz is executive producing. Alan Ames, who is co-producing with Wayne Anderson and writing the screenplay with Carole Parker, produces the syndicated TV seriesTexas Roadhouse Live.  “This film will span decades,” said Ames, “from Slim’s emergence as a musician, to his fascination with the fast life, through his years of incarceration and his redemption.”  Sims is still currently touring with his music and is in his 70’s.  Hawthorne James will be directing.  Hawthorne was the bus driver who gets shot in the original ‘Speed’ film.

Snoop will be amazing in this role.  I can only hope this movie will get a wide release and hopefully the costume department will get an Oscar nomination.
