Hi Bryan Here….

After the West Memphis 3 were freed today for crimes they did not commit, it was only a matter of time before the Hollywood minions started to imagine projects about their story.  Well, there is already a script called ‘The Devil’s Knot’ which is based on the book of the investigative reporter Mara Leveritt’s ‘Devil’s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three’.  The script has a $20 million dollar budget and has Atom Egoyan attached to direct.  Atom Egoyan directed ‘The Sweet Hereafter’, ‘Ararat’, and ‘Chloe’.

The script was written n 2006, so this really wasn’t rushed at the last minute.  So far, the life rights of Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley Jr. have not been discussed, but I imagine in the next few weeks, an agreement will be reached.

On my opinion, I don’t think they need to make a feature film.  The documentaries called ‘Paradise Lost’ are the definitive films on this case and these boys.   I’m just happy and glad they are finally free.

Your thoughts?
