Hi Bryan Here…

Director Greg Mottola (Superbad, Paul, Adventureland) will direct the pilot episode that Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, The West Wing, A Few Good Men) is creating.  The TV show right now is untitled but is looking to star actor Jeff Daniels (Arachnophobia, Dumb and Dumber) as a new cable network political commentator.  This sonds maybe a little bit more like Sorkin’s Studio 60.

Variety says:  “examines the behind-the-scenes look at a cable news network with Jeff Daniels in negotiations to star as the host of his own political show who, from the network perspective, can be difficult to handle.”

Sorkin supposedly shadowed Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann for research for this new show for HBO.

I think this is a powerhouse talent trio here if Jeff Daniels indeed signs on.  We know Sorkin can write great political drama and comedy and Mottola can direct television like he has with Arrested Development and Undeclared.  I hope this pilot finds its audience and is given a proper shot.

Your thoughts?
