Over the last few years I’ve become quite the fan of silk screen art prints and concert posters, amassing more prints than I actually have frames and wall space for. I fancy myself to be a bit of a screen printer, too, and so I’ll be curating an art show with some other talented screen printers and letterpress artists at Studio 204 in Arlington, TX on Saturday, November 13th from 6-9pm.
The exhibition’s title takes its name from the Elvis Costello song of the same name, a nod to the usual subject matter portrayed in The Beatles’ music. My wish for this collection of art was to have numerous hand made prints reflect the positive nature music brings into our lives, as a way of celebrating those creators of the music that filters through our being. Each artist will have anywhere from 2-4 individual prints, reflecting upon their ideas of the theme.
The show will be one night only engagement, and feature the work of Kim Neiman, Virgil Scott, Casey Mcgarr, Rhonda Camp Warren, Lily Smith-Kirkley, Steven Trimble, Virginia Green, Maeve Rogers and myself, Jonathon Kimbrell. All of the work on display will be available for purchase, making it a great opportunity to pick up some unique, one of a kind gifts for your friends and loved ones this holiday season. Hell, if you don’t want to shop for anybody buy a few prints for yourself!
